how do i get into Ramsmeats house? Its locked and Geralt says "I need to deal with these guards" but when i talk to them they tell me to get lost and I cant attack them.anyone else think you have to visit the detective as the first thing you do in this chapter..otherwise u dont know why you are even doing this investigation!

Because you can't deal with them at daytime?Seeing the detective immediately is the most logical thing to do, yes. The game practically shoves Geralt to the door ;). To bad you risk The Rat quest by doing so (depending on your decisions in Act I).

Does whoever you decided is guilty have major changes for the rest of the game? Im basically trying to do all the side quests first if possible so i dont end the chapter early and miss out. It's great so far though i do think its a bit stupid how you wander around completely wasted after a few drinks (or 10) but are able to start a perfectly sober conversation with anyone! would have been good if they just had some generic drunken mumblings and insults when you talk to people or wander about in that state.

No lasting repercussions for pinning it on the wrong guy. Even if you accuse poor Kalkstein, he's still fine with you in Act III (or was before the enhanced edition!)

Ok, fresh from having done Act II again for my 9th time over, I have this little guide for those noobs having trouble doing both the optional paths of searching the cemetary AND performing the autopsy.(Yes, I MEAN optional. One can realize the true culprit before even getting asked to do the autopsy in the first place and fudge the results yourself).Note that this is a quick and dirty guide, and I take no responsibility for the accuracy of the method, especially where a suspect conflict may arise.I also have to say that my method is in no way the ONLY order of performing these actions, but is a pretty logical way of proceeding.Mega-spoiler below :)
I first urge everyone to try and clear all the suspects first before proceeding to do the autopsy / cemetery sweep, although the crypt find can be the veritable "silver bullet" of the investigation. This guide starts when Raymond has told you to talk to Shani about performing an autopsy on the dead Salamander.- Go immediately to the gravedigger and first discuss how you can get into the cemetery. (The dialogue path involves asking him whether he's helped at an autopsy before). He will then need either a pass from Vincent (if you haven't annoyed him) or his debt cleared by Thaler, in order for him to let you in. Perform one of those options (you may do both, but will have to choose only one later to use.)- Now talk to Shani. She will give you hints on what you'll need. Gather what intel you need (books / advice from Vincent etc) and return to the Gravedigger. Ask him about the Salamander corpse, and what he wants for a corpse delivery (he'll want dwarven alcohol).- Tell the gravedigger about the pass / cleared debt and enter the graveyard, then crypt, and find that special piece of evidence you need.- Return to the gravedigger and tell him what you've discovered. Then give him the booze. You should now be able to do the autopsy too. Note that the dialogue may seem iffy since Geralt already knows who is the true murderer.
Sorry if I'm repeating what's already been said, but with the number of questions cropping up about this, I had to step in and pitch my method.

In chap 2 (and the rest for that matter) are you told when the Chapter is about to end so you get the chance to go back and complete any optional stuff before it's too late?

Not directly like "Warning: Chapter ending soon!", but the plot generally reads that way. Once you enter the tower, the Act is over. So leave opening the tower to last if you can.

Is it possible to kill a headhunter? Ive got one come after me in the swamps and his superhuman powers are too strong...i cant even get a single hit on him so im guessing its impossible. they should have made it a tough fight but not so hes unbeatable :hmmm: ::)

There are reports of some who have been successful, but on the whole the situation is inescapable. You shouldn't have killed those good neutrals buddy, the game is punishing you for it. Pay his ransom, or reload and never kill those types of people again.

It's possible to clear all suspects through interrogation and investigation, before the autopsy or visiting the cemetery. You get the best XP rewards all around by first clearing all suspects, then completing the autopsy correctly, and then visiting the cemetery. Sometimes you need to get information from one subject before passing it by another, and sometimes just repeated questioning will reveal new details, even if the topic is grayed out.Kalkstein is by far the most difficult, and will probably always have to be done last, based on the wide collection of details obtained from others, as well as thorough questioning of Raymond.

This Wyvern place in the swamps is sooo hard! Im trying to get the dead messengers items and the sword but there are like 8 wyvern guarding that area and they all attack me at once! any tips? Also do these Echinops respawn? All the others in the swamp seem to. I had killed a load of em to complete the contract quest for the gardener only thing is i used them all in potion making so i need to find some more only i cant.

Do you know the nonhuman camp? Before you enter the boardwalk you may encounter Echinopsae. Take care, Drowners and Drowned Deads turn up as well… simultaneously :whatthe:Approach the Wyvern island carefully and take them one by one. When one Wyvern notices Geralt advance backwards to avoid that during fight other Wyvern get aware of you. And make sure that this place is cleared of Drowned Dead, etc.Drink Swallow and Bindweed and coat your blade with Ornithosaur oil and… and win the fight ;)

Dont think I know the non human camp..will have another look. I haven't looked long so im sure I'll find some.I dont have any Ornithisaur oil formula, where can i get that? I have Golden Oriole which is what ive been using in the swamps alot. Is that not as good? Will try and lure em one at a time..I dont wanna go too far back in case they respawn.

Bindweed is only helpful against acids, like the stuff Bloedzuigers spray on their death, and kikimores spew all the time. Golden Oriole is for poison and is the likely candidate for attacking wyverns.

2 quick Qs...Why does Raymond ask you do perform an autopsy in the first place? He would surely know u are gonna discover it was him who gave Shani that fisstech..and i dont think that would be concrete evidence anyway. And secondly what monsters is Vincent talking about when he gives you that magic weapon enhancing amulet for "killing those 3 monsters"? ???

Did I get it rightt? Shani receives Fisstech from Raymond?Do you mean the Svarog runestune you received from Vincent? This is a partial reward for your endeavours to kill 3 special monsters.
You will get more rewards like that in the trophy quest serial
@chucklesYes, seems that I confused something. Willlow btw is usefuls against Wyvern's knockdown attacks but the formular isn't available yet in Act II I think.

yeah thats the runestone thanks. And yeah during the autopsy Shani says that Raymond gave her fisstech from his special stock to use as an anesthetic or something because there wasn't anything else.So if he mixed it with larvae it would be obvious they would find out during the autopsy. maybe he just thought they wouldnt be clever enough to find out? But even so it wouldn't neccessarily mean he was to blame for certain.

It's because he's setting you up to frame the wrong person and then ambush you. And because he's too cocky to believe you see through his disguise, or to make a contingency plan.

HeyI am Playing the Witcher EE and am stuck in chapter two.I initially accused Vincent of being in league with the Salamandra, which means he will not speak to me, and I cannot get any rewards for questions, nor get the key to the graveyard.I was meant to get the Grave-digger to open the cemetary, if Thaler clears his debts. I talked to Thaler and he said to prove him innocent. I did the autopsy, proving him innocent, but now there are no dialogue options, meaning I cannot get into the cemetary!Lastly, I confronted Kalkstein, and he tells me to get lost. Now I cannot lure him to the tower. What the hell is going on?

Something similar happened to me during that Act..ended up killing and accusing loads of people lol..but yeah basically what you should have done..to clear thaler..instead of doing the Autopsy you should visit his house at midnight..where you should encounter an NPC named "Mysterious Man"..if you interact with him it updates your journal with info about thaler...nooooow go and speak to him and (in my experience) it clears him of all suspicion..allowing you access to the Cemetary. Id imagine your problem is related to the fact that the Autopsy quest is kind of the conclusion of the entire investigation and once you complete it you cant do anything more with regards to clearing ppl of suspicion and the likes. Basically, you dont have to use the Autopsy quest to clear vincent or thaler..there are other ways =) Im hoping you have some saves to revert back to^^Edit: Also, with regards to clearing vincent..if you do the quest for Coleman at the hairy bear inn named "The Rat" it clears him of all suspicion. However whether or not coleman appears in the act depends on the choices you made in Act 1 when you encounter the Scoia'tael unit.
