I never considered handing the book out seeing that it is basically secret intelYou can give the book to the Bootblack. He gives you a ring which you must show to yet another npc, I suppose. In exchange he gives you a useful signet ring.P.S. Me too, All i had to to was listen to her crap and she let me go upstairs from there on! I geuss they made grandma a little mini game where you have to figure out how to get passed her.Btw, if anyone has had trouble getting to the cabinet with the diary at the party she doesn't see so long as you hug the wall.
