[ACT II] Missed the autopsy!

Second time playthrough, and somehow I've managed to miss the autopsy part. It simply never showed up. Here's what I've done:
-Talked to the sick assassin. From what I remember he's supposed to die "naturally" after the fight and talking o Kalkstein. And that should trigger the autopsy part. But he's just gone now...-Proved everyone's innocence, by starting with Meis by getting info from Coleman. Then I could get into the cemetery and find Raymond's body-Found all sephiroths except the one that Raymond carries (even killed the Golem)
Now, when I talk to Raymond, he just states "My expenses doubled" and won't do anything. He doesn't have any fisstech either, which is kinda strange too.So now I wonder if it's possible to start the autopsy this late, or if there's some possibility to "fix" the quest chain manually. The autopsy is kinda fun to play, but I've already done that once, and don't want to replay act II again (almost played it twice the first playthrough because I thought I'd messed up that time too).

then you're golden, the autopsy is entirely unnecessary. Although you *can* do both the autopsy and go into the cemetery crypt, you only need one or the other, not both to advance the plot.If you are hell bent on doing it, then you must restore to before you went into the crypt .... or at least to before you spoke to anyone about what you found in the crypt.everything you've listed seems just fine ... have you spoken to every you have proved innocent and told them ? if not, do thatcheers

That's the problem: everyone's innocent, I've found Raymond's true identity and all I need is to get his sephiroth and meet "him". But he won't progress... More specifically, I never seemed to get the "Anatomy of a Crime" quest from him. In the "Vizima Confidential", it states that I should wait for him to contact me (through the boy), but he never does.

Found the "glitch", or whatever one prefers to call it: the "resolute boy" was standing outside Raymond's house but he never contacted me. When I spoke to him, the next event triggered. Interestingly the quest log has taken this into account; that I already know the true enemy.Anyway, thanks for the help (found two 2ndary quests I hadn't done, either).

I order to do the autopsy without FAIL DO NOT TALK to RAYMOND about it. otherwise INSTANT FAIL.If you ask Raymond about how the autopsy went before even doing the autopsy INSTANT MISSION FAIL.When Raymond asks you to do an autopsy DON'T TALK TO HIM AGAIN until DONE RIGHT...talk to Shani to do the autopsy even talk to Vincent about clues on how to do the autopsy and read the Book on "Forensic Medicine" it HELPS ALOT.Vincent will also give you a ring that allows you to get into the Hospital without having to bribe and waste money on that Guard....if you found Vincent innocent. To prove Vincent innocent you must PLAY ALONG when entering the warehouse with Salamandra...if you accuse him siding with Salamandra he will refuse to talk to you and say "One word and it's the dungeon". Make sure the body is sent to the Hospital by the Gravedigger....dwarf alcohol is he's favourite....but I think you need to do a quest for him first...maybe not but I think you can still do the quest for some reward exp points anyway.Just follow the where the quest leads your on map tracking...Once Shani agrees on an autopsy she will wait for you before Midnight...around 10:00 or 10:30 onwards she is waiting inside the hospital for you. It's amusing watching Shani examining the Skull, hands right into the skull..yumi...from there you know how the prisoner died.Pllus you get exp points for completing the mission.

You don't need to do a quest in order to get the body from the gravedigger. The quest you're probably thinking of, A Gravedigger's Gratitude is about getting into the cemetary and finding Raymond's body. It's related, of course, but not a prerequisite.

I've spoken to Raymond after Shani has said to gather information, He actually has a dialogue option for this part of the quest. As for sticking her hands in the skull, the bit I find funny is that she then stands upright and rubs her forehead.

Little late, but similar problem. When I found dead Raymond I got new part of quest 'make autopsy anyway' (or somethg. like that), but when I went to Lebeda's hospital (at night) I could't find Shani, body wasn't there either. When I talked to her at night (at her house) - only dialog was about war or about party. This quest ends when I invite someone to the party.

I don't know if it is bug or if I just didn't find right solution.

It sounds like you've advanced too far to do the autopsy.

To get the body, you need to talk with the gravedigger; if you haven't talked with him, the body doesn't show up.

Thanks for reply, now I haven't got saves, but next time I will try that, but I'm quite sure I've already spoken to everyone in Wyzima :)

//maybe - gravedigger gave me body of that witness and I found Raymond AFTER that (without doing 1.autopsy), so maybe that is problem, but I'm not sure if it was like that

Where are you? Are you sure it's time for the autopsy? It doesn't happen until relatively late in the chapter.

What does your quest log say -- which phase are you in?

Has a little boy asked you to go see Raymond?

Have you been in Vizima's Cemetery?

Has Raymond been threatened by Salamandra and left? If so, at some point, a little boy will come to get you and tell you that Raymond needs to see you. The autopsy doesn't happen until after that.

How many sephirot stones do you have? Have you talked to Vaska lately? Have you gotten the books that Kalkstein wanted? Did you read the books? Have you talked with Vivaldi? Have you been inside the Cave in the Swamps? Have you brought the golem back to life?

In Chapter 2, there's a lot of back-and-forth. You need to talk to Vincent, Thaler, Vaska, Kalkstein, Leuvaarden, Vivaldi, Zoltan, Ramsmeat, Shani, and Raymond. Then you need to talk to them again. Then you need to get some stuff, do some stuff, and talk to them all again. There's a lot of running around, doing quests, finding sephirot stones, and questioning people in this chapter. Most of the quests in this chapter are interconnected, and sometimes you can't advance one until you've done more on another. Just keep doing things, and it will all turn out.

One caveat: Do NOT go into Vizima's Cemetery, if you get the opportunity to do so, until AFTER the little boy has asked you to go see Raymond and you've gone to see him. There's a bug that occurs if you do things in that order.

Okay, good. It sounds like you're on the right track, then.

*laugh* Good guess, but no. There's something you can discover in Vizima's Cemetery that breaks the game if you discover it too soon. Once you've followed the little boy, talked to Raymond, paid him his 200 orens, and gotten the autopsy quest, then there's no danger in going into the cemetery. Well, no danger of breaking the game. There's the danger of what lives there, but you can handle that. ;)

That actually HAPPENED to you? Wow, that's so weird! I can't even think of a way that could happen.

If anything like that ever happens again, you can use the Saved Game Editor to give yourself the quest item again.
