[ACT III] I can't decide what side to choose...

Whether I should go on the nonhuman side or the human side. At the beginning of the game I was quite happy that he seemed to be indifferent, because I hate choosing sides on anything, but I'm beginning to tell I'm going to have to settle on something soon (ewww, I just wish everybody would be friends hahaha :p)But, I think I need more background on what's gonna happen first...I can tell that the humans are pretty nasty to the nonhumans, but the Squirells are useeeleeesss at trying to negotiate anything...so I want to know overall which one you guys thought did anything actually usefulAnd I want to know what will be limited in what side I choose, although I'm pretty sure once I'm done with the game I'll go back and try it again on an opposite side.Hahhahaha, just inform me :)

If you can't choose, take your own side.Oh wait, Act III.Uhhh you can help either but at the bank you have to pick one temporarily. Basically do you think its right to rob a bank?

If only it was that easy :) Do you think it's right to rob a bank? Do you think it's right to stop the robbery no matter what consequences that might have for the hostages? Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place.Like ST_Ghost said, you must choose a side now, but at a later point you'll have to choose again between that side and staying neutral, so you really have three different options to pick from. Which may mean playing the game three times to explore them all ;)

Bankers are robbers, so robbing a bank doesn't make you a robber :peace:

This is a Moral path if you help the nonhumans you mite see it as way to save life on both side If you help the Human you will have a fight on your hand but this doe not stop you from being Neutral deeper in the game

I hate elves in general, and I don't see the humans any better off. So I flipped a coin on this one, but that's just me.

My problem is that I did the Siegfried quest in the graveyard. The Squirrels had women and children surrounded by ghouls and were giving me the choice of helping the hostages or killing the squirrels. Up until that point I wanted to help the squirrels. I don't know if I did the quests out of order or what. I probably would have helped them in the bank if it weren't for the above.Any thoughts?

the "real" decision is not until the end of Act IV, so don't worry if helping Siegfried doesn't seem like the "right" thing to do ... your big choice is not until later :peace:

I'd side with the non-humans all the time but, even the non-humans don't side with the Scoaetel. They're finatics that just go too far. Killing anyone opposing them seems to be their only answer--screwing it up for the rest of the non-humans. However, the Order of the Flaming Rose isn't much better--so called monster slayers and list non-human opposition in their list of monsters--except for Siegfreid (downright honorable).I guess I just choose whatever seems the morale choice at the time regardless of who's side it is.

Most of the humans are racist, and most of the elves are arrogant jerks. So whose side to choose? Well, I chose to side with the dwarves -- they seem to be reasonable folks, willing to live and let live, but humans are persecuting them. Yes, that means I have to take the elves, too, but I figure they're a necessary evil, to be able to help the dwarves. When people say "non-humans" on the forum, they usually talk about the elves; it seems like the poor dwarves are usually forgotten. While I disagree with the methods of the Scoia'tael much of the time, it seems as if the atrocities are mostly committed by the elves. If the dwarves had their own organization, I'd go with that, but....

In my first game I supported the Squirrels all the way. But in my second run through I started to really pay attention to the dialogue and realized that Yeavinn and his crew are murderous thugs. There is no right and wrong in Witcher; both sides feel they have the moral high ground. Having to make difficult choices is what makes the game so good. Where I feel the game really shines is in the subquests where Geralt has to choose between killing or not killing, as in the Werewolf, Ghoul and Striga quests. There's a reward for killing, in the form of a talent, or, if you like, a penalty for not killing. I like that.

Like fraser says--it's kind of like real life--all sides feel their ideals are right. They're isn't a right choice just a consequence for which choice you make no matter which choice you make. :-\ The game designers must have put a lot of thought into this whole plot line along with some real insight on real life itself. 8)
