I did it! I d say tho' if you are just in it for shortest time, you will miss out on the 1st corpse in the tunnel...and a helluva lota chem ingredients in killing the waves of kikkimres and warriors. The 2nd corpse and the treasure chest was another nice bonus. Finally all the great loot in the Queen herself! Im so loaded down w/stuff I need to find a tavern now in Act IV. I must say this is a nice serene area compared to both the Qtrs in the first 3 Acts. Thanks for your encouragement!

Hey guys. New register here and just want to throw in my 2 cents. I am glad that I insisted not to look for any cheat / spoil whatsoever for this boss. It's thrilling to read last few pages of this thread to find that some of you really managed to beat it pretty easily. What I did is that I make use of the trap sign which some people already mentioned, while making use of the small opening at the left side of the cave with pillars. The opening is narrow, and the Queen, being a big ass as it is, wouldn't be able to reach to follow you. The tricky part is that I need to look for the best spot to cast the sign that it would likely to step on when it decides to turn around and catch up while I exit the small opening through the other end. Good thing is the AI seems to try and avoid the trap whenever possible, which in this case becomes fun to watch because sometimes it really walks out avoiding it. I came up using this method after I ended up dead with a single blow from the Queen whenever trying to go head to head. After for like 5 times I thought that this boss fight would take different approach (which is not true after what I read here :D ), and the trap powerup stone at the section before, where Geralt engage packs of Salamandra assassins, it kind of looked like it had to be there on purpose. Poisoning seems to work very well on the Queen because the first session already does an average 500+ damage on it (and my sign is only at level 3) although it gradually decreases, I am guessing the effectiveness is calculated by percentage of its total vitality. If the powerup duration already expires by the time you encounter the Queen, you will proabaly need to take a Petri Philter to enhance the poisoning - albedo version is likeable since potions with 5 ingredients are highly toxic. So yeah, Petri Philter, Tawny Owl, and Cat, since the whole damn cave is kinda dark. No more than 5 trap signs to kill the Queen. And all I do is running back and forth along the small opening to get the Queen to walk through the spikes. Not my style personally, having to creep away from that freak and not able to draw any sword. But hey I couldn't figure out anything else at that moment XD

Just killed the Kikimore queen and everything else in the caves.Used Yrden with Tawny Owl and Cat at level 28.Same technique as was stated before.Find a safe place where the queen has to go through place Yrden and keep moving round so queen has to go back and forth.Eventually the queen will die and it is very safe.

It sounds like the community has been underestimating the power of Yrden, blinded by the flashier power of Igni. Anybody who wants an excuse to play again, there you go.... ;)

That must be really fun -- to make a game, release it thinking that you know how it works, and then find that people have done something completely different!

Yrden is a powerful weapon, but the problem is that you find it late and in the Queen 's cave it isn't so strong yet. So, i guess (because i haven 't try it) that it 'll be a long fight. :)

In the Salamandra Base where you meet the Professor and Javed there is Circle of Element "Circle of Waning Power" a buff of 50% intensity for Yrden which lasts only 1 hour and 40 mins. I don't know if it's enough time until you encounter the Kiki queen.

Yes that's the sign boost I was talking about. It's kind of tight indeed, only a couple minutes remaining by the time I saw the Queen. That's where the Petri Philter comes in handy... but with or without sign boost, poisoning seems to work well.@fchopinWouldn't call it "very safe" :D It actually took me a few tries to get to know which spot would be best to place the sign. And most of times the Queen actually managed to get reeeal close to me while doing the peek a boo routine it made me went "dude dude stay away duuude" lol And yes it was quite a long fight to me... probably got killed for like 20 times in total. I guess the problem goes back to that the Yrden takes forever to cast. I notice that sometimes I get to do the charge version really quick - the one that shoots out giant spikes for greater radius - by holding the button and release it just right before the charge bar appears on the screen. It's not always successful to pull off though, so I tend to see it as a bug. Now replaying TW:EE on Hard, and I am not sure if I'm gonna want to use the same tactic on the Queen :p

Do you mean the Kikimore Queen? You don't need to fight her, this is one method to kill her. here is an other one and this something extra ordinary. You find many strategies and hints in this thread ;)You don't get the chance to kill the Professor because the floor collapses and you both drop into the Kikimore Queen's lair. The Kikimore Queen devours him. After you got rid of her you can loot her body and find the belongings of the Professor.

Just go after the Professor, hit him first with an Igni then hack away with strong steel,Igni and hack again. When his vitality gets low enough the cut-scene will start and the kikimores disappear.

Er, this isn't a technical problem, so you're more likely to find help in the "Story and Quests" portion of the forum. There's a secret to dealing with the Kickimore Queen and a long thread with lots of advice about how to handle the situation. Look here: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=3792.0

I can't get past killing the Kikimore queen. I've killed myself three times, she's killed Geralt about eight times and I've toppled the supports onto it once where I ran down the corridor past smaller kikimores only to be killed immediately while looking for an exit that is on opposite side of rubble. The game guide makes it sound like a walk in the park - HA! It's an IMPOSSIBILITY! I've seen the map showing the exit is on the other side of ol' queenie, and made a run for it, only to find it's still blocked and not at all passable. I topple supports onto queenie, run and still get killed immediately! I see no possible way of escaping, living, winning, or doing anything except dying again and again - it's absurdly impossible!

It can be very frustrating! But it's not impossible, I promise. A few tips:Geralt will tell you to pull down the supports and collapse the roof on the Queen as soon as you leave the room that you landed in, the room where you first see the Queen. If you pull down the supports that lead from the room you landed in to the corridor, that will slow her down but not kill her. If you pull down the supports at the end of that corridor, once you're in the big room, that will slow her down but not kill her. If you pull down the supports in the main room (after you've left it, of course!), THAT will kill her. You don't have to pull down the earlier supports for this to kill her, either; it doesn't seem like it's the cumulative effect of getting the roof pulled down on her several times -- pulling down the roof of the main room on her will kill her even if it's the first time. So if you've pulled down supports and pulled down supports and she keeps not dying, it's not that the advice is wrong, it's just that you haven't found the right supports yet. Pull the big room down on her head, and she WILL die.Sometimes, if you just run flat-out, you can get from the landing room though the corridor, through the big room, to the exit corridor with no problem. Sometimes, the little kickimores get in the way no matter how fast you run, and you're stuck at the end of the first corridor or in the big room. If the little kickimores get in the way, jump over one and keep one (or more!) little kickmore between you and the Queen. The queen won't kill the little kickmore to get toyou, and although it looks as if she could just reach over it, in my experience, she doesn't.Take a Full Moon potion; Full Moon DOUBLES your vitality points, so you can survive one hit from the Queen, which gives you room to screw up once and not die.
Recipe: one quebrith, two hydragenum, two vermillion
The blocked exit only becomes unblocked once you've killed the queen. You need to exit from the main ROOM but not from the entire area. Once you've left the main room, you can pull those supports down, and those supports kill the Queen even though pulling all the other supports down on her did not. Once you've killed her -- AND looted her body -- then the exit opens up.There are two exits from the main room; make sure you choose the right one. As you exit from the corridor that leads from the room where you landed to the big room where all the little kickimores are, you want the exit that's to your right, not the one that's straight ahead.I have lousy hand-eye coordination, and I've managed to do this several times, so I know you can, too! You just need to know where to go and what strategies to use.Good luck!
