Good to see that I am not alone in being bugged (pun intended) by this part of the quest. It is the first time in the whole game I had to go online to search for walkthroughs. Hrmph! The only problem with this quest is that the queen isn't as slow as she is made out to be in the information about her. There is no time to actually read/hear what Geralt says, especially with the workers' constant charging.

It took me three hours to finish this. I was really getting exasperated! Two times I got caught in the first cave-in. One time I got to the last supports and killed the queen, but got caught in the fallout and couldn't get out. Most of the time, there were just too many kikimores slowing me up. Finally, I took a potion that increased my endurance, and using Aard, I blasted them out of my way on the side and ran around the rest of them. When I got through, I turned to fight them and the queen was right behind them, very close, It took a couple shots of Aard to collapse the pillars and it was over. I did get the sun item from the dead body. In fact, that was a good spot too, to turn and fight the kikimores; they couldn't surround me. That got rid of the first wave I couldn't avoid otherwise.

I died about 20 times before I succeeded.Run past the first support and collapse it. Run as far along the tunnel as you can, then draw your sword and start flipping over enemies. Don't stop to fight, just get to the exit of the big cavern. Collapse the cavern on the queen.

Now, I'm not up to her yet, but can't I just, you know, beat her to death with my swords?

Woohoo, just you wait and see why you won't! If it was ment to manage that way we wouldn't have this conversation. I'm so frustrated I want to scratch my face and cry. When first damn spiderthing comes to my hero he stops running and thats it. If I use Aard, the seiling collapses and thats it again. Aaaaargh! OK, now I got so far as to the dead body, and no, I could not loot it because my cursor did not ghance to hand-sign. Another bug. And I tried, you know. And then I got in to the cave and died. Maybe I should start to play Sims witch I believe would be more suitable to my limited intelligence.Sigh.By the way, is there a way to make Geralt jump? I never figured that out.

Wonder why I always get killed below the first support beam, even though I'm not under it... The Kikimore Queen is so not slow. When I try this part the queen doesn't follow me and the workers swarm me at the third support beam. Quess I'll just keep trying... Your posts offered some help at east.

Why are so many people having problems with this. DO NOT aard the first support, AARD the second one. That majorly slows her down enough to get past the kikomores and once in the big open area just avoid everyone and run through to other side turn around and aar. NOTE: you can pause to save some time for the turning aroud to aard by first pasusing the game ;) Do not try to aard first support it kills you almost no matter what, and she goes through it like butter.

Well, you can Aard the first beam, you just want to be sure you're on the other side. And yes, she does go through it, but it does slow her down a bit. After dying a few times, I just made sure I got on the "right" side of the pillars and Aared them. I also found that I could draw my sword and just sort of wade/somersault the little bastids. As someone mentioned, if you can Aard the pillars, it seems to cause the little ones to despawn (or presumbably die in the cave in.) As far as the mixed success people have had with Aard and getting some different reactions, it's possible that people have put different points into the Aard spell itself which is accounting for some of the different reactions. And that bitch is quick. You stop and lolligag and you'll be dead.I want to thank everyone for their tips, because this is the first time I've had to resort to coming here to figure out how to beat her. Tried dragging the sword out the first few times and thought I'll just dance for a while. I hardly had time to swallow my Jameson before I was dirt napping. ;D

Actually it is a bit buggy right now. You just got lucky as I did ONCE, guess I stood in just the right spot. I stood further than that right spot away and got killed every time. Also the time it takes to cast aard is about the amount that first pillar slowed her down so... the second one, but maybe this is a bug also, stopped her long enough for me to kill ALL kikomore search the body nearby for goods and get all the way to end, turn and blow out last suppports...

I found this part to be quite easy. I blew away the first support, and the worker kikimors started running away. I just ignored them, and blew away the second support. I kept doing the same thing with the third support, and after the fourth support, the queen died. I looted the body, and the cut scene showed the cave opening up. Simple. Now don't get me wrong, I did die a couple of times till I figured it out, but after the initial trial and error, it worked out just like I described it above. I never even spent any time killing the workers, as they seemed to be scared by the falling debris from the supports.

Ah, ;D I almost gave up on this level, hehehe, knocked down the post too early, BAM you're dead! Knocked down the last post without getting out of the way, BAM! You're trapped. The key to this level is timing. Don't even dare try standing up against the kikimore queen and killing the Professor wasn't even easy, hahah! ::)

Has anyone had the Queen get stuck behind the rubble? I did everything right, cast Aard at the second and third pillars, then cast it again to make the cave wall shake. I waited and waited...and waited...nothing happened. So I walked back and there was the Queen scrabbling against the rubble. All the little buggers popped out again and I cast Aard again to make them go under. I did this for about 30 minutes before realising that it's probably just bugged out and had to restart from an earlier save. Also, I'm playing on Medium difficulty. Is it possible to grab enough time to loot the corpse on Difficult level or is the Queen busting through the walls too fast? That video linked in last post made it look like you just have to pretty much leg it as fast as possible.

After several attempts to run past all the kikimores, I finally tried drinking a Blizzard potion. That's what worked for me. I didn't blow any of the supports, ran past the crowd of kikimores all the way to the exit corridor, and then turned around and blew the final supports to kill the queen. :)

the final support at the end of the corridor (the biger one) is enough to kill the queen.regarding the "stuck situation" when there are a lot of workers in front of you, just double tap on wasd and geralt will evade with a flick over them;D i died two times before i reached the final support then geralt says that one is enough to crush the queen so...peace of cake ;)
