No worries, I know. And about the quests that are affected: could you tell us which ones? If you're sure it's just those quests, then people who want to play the game this weekend could still do so without concern as long as they don't do those quests yet. It would also help us calculate the XP we're missing in case the retroactive gain isn't possible to implement.

But which quests? I was on the verge of level 24 last night after doing a main quest that did give XP. Then I went and did a lvl 24 side quest and didn't level. That's when I went online and read about this glitch. So I tried a different side quest, level 25 this time, and made sure to save before turning it in. No XP. Reloaded and did a 24 contract. No XP. Reloaded again and tried a 24, if I remember correctly, sidequest. No XP. At that point I just turned the game off. That's a solid hour and a half of time which should have granted me well over 1000 XP. Over the weekend I expected to get a nice chunk of time in and get at least to 30. You expect I'm going to take the risk of doing that now? Some people are experiencing the glitch on main quests too and they give massive XP in some cases. So you expect people to keep doing quests and push the main story forward while not gaining levels? Eventually you're going to get outpaced by the quests. Or are you saying I just had the most extreme bad luck known to man by choosing the quests I did to test the glitch?One more thing regarding this issue. It doesn't affect every quest but only some of them. That's how we know the experience loss is not that big in total numbers.

It would be really helpful if there was a more solid answer than "some of them". If you guys see the issue and are working on a patch then you have to be able to be more specific than "some of them". There has to be some rhyme or reason to the glitch.
I wasn't too far in, so ive deleted the application and turned off my network connection on my PS4 so the game doesnt download the patch. I will be playing 1.0 until this is fixed.

I am level 17 and just did a level 25 (red with a skull) quest and i got 0 xp. Just sayin.

I'm obviously not a mod, but I do not think it's specific to a patch. I have seen others discuss this issue on an unpatched version of the game. I could be wrong and perhaps it's a different issue altogether though.Is it related to a certain patch, like the 1.04 patch on PC?
I really want to believe this - but if it's only *some* quests, why has it happened with every quest I've tried? Sheer bad luck? Other people, across a wide range of levels, have reported the same thing - every quest they try fails to give XP. Spread across Velen, Novigrad, Skellige...One more thing regarding this issue. The lack of specifics - no offense - makes it seem like you're either not fully confident in what you're telling us, or the number of affected quests (while not total) is high enough that you don't want to say what it is.
Or even that you're worried that if you make it clear how much of the XP you can lose and still finish the game, you'll provide fodder for those who are complaining about quests going "grey", and who would say those quests are just "pointless" because they don't make numbers go up.
So I like many of you no doubt, have been afraid to play after noticing I had the xp bug on Thursday night. Went on and gave it a bash after the latest RED post today. Got no xp for 1 main mission, done a side quest and only got 30 xp for using Axii sign. Started another secondary quest "matter of life or death" - got nothing. But on the next phase "now or never" I got around 2k xp. Kept popping up 200xp on various phases of the quest. At the end I got no indication of how much xp I got for completion but I got another level... So I must have got the xp that time without it showing after the quest completed dialogue. (I was checking before if I was getting xp even if the game wasn't showing me, on the first few quest i mentioned)
So I came to the conclusion I will just play this weekend and enjoy, I really don't know when the bug kicked in for me but I am level 18 now and way ahead of the current curve. Would suck to be able to complete everything and not get to use certain gear etc but hey as long as i get level 35 for plat... I guess that's "ok" for me... To say I'm disappointed is an understatement tho, I also would appreciate more clarification on the exact details of what wont reward xp etc, or is it all just random.

Can we please get a list of which quests are affected so that we can have the option of avoiding them temporarily?Glad to hear. Any chance we'll see a list of quests affected by the bug before the update? A fix could be a week out for those on consoles, no?
So is it some quests are all of them you don't recieve exp? I havn't noticed anything...
