Adm problems

I just got a new laptop running off of Windows 8. When I try to play Witcher EE, it tells me that I need to run as the administrator. I've downloaded the 1.5 patch, but once I try to get the tages off, it tells me that I do not have the permission to access the site. Do I go into the program files itself and get rid of the tages? I am running off of the CD version also, not off of Steam.

Not exactly sure how windows 8 handles websites. Are you running 8 under an administrator account.

Yep, I made sure the game itself runs me as an administrator, and also went into my system to make sure I am running as administrator and ran into the same problems. I also try redownloading the game after downloading the patch and still nothing.

Must have something to do with their servers. I also get the forbidden message.
If you have your cd-key then follow the link to claim a backup copy from GOG with no DRM whatsoever. http://www.gog.com/witcher2/backup . It says witcher 2 but also works for witcher 1 as well.
