If you show nipples or genitals at any point in your game it will be classified as an adult game. That doesn't immediately mean that you will have nipples and genitals tossed all around or an extensive porn simulation. The intimate scenes you could say are soft core but they are made to appeal to an artistic standard that the team set out for the purpose of accurate presentation of their characters. And Imo they are made way better in that sense than being raw porn.
Now to the point of Night City being advertised in some cases as a hedonistic city with nudity all over I could accept that this bit should be pushed for. Yes more nudity and less modesty in certain parts of the city definitely would lift up those intimate moments of affection with the ones you romance and give them a greater contrast.

I feel ultimately its better to offer constructive suggestions for implementing what you wish to see instead of outright dismissal.
All I'm asking for is the game as it was on the release date, no more, no less.

I want the game I paid for and was playing the day it was released.

The game must sell in nations where sexuality isn't allowed to be on display, especially consoles.

If you take issue with my nation dictating games sexual limits, as well as others, I feel you.

We've had this happen with a game that decided to give Europe the better Adults Only version, too.

It didn't go well, and sales dropped, the game was called Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cume Laude. Also, as the previous poster stated this is all history and you should know it.

I was fighting for censorship before most here ever were gaming, I am part of who even got Adults Only games uncensored and unbanned on Steam..

Not going to happen, consoles do not allow for releasing games with over an M+ rating. They couldn't ship any updates that increased the rating to AO on console, it's almost like you guys don't follow the laws related to gaming sales for all platforms. San Andreas had this issue originally which required Rockstar to completely patch out the Hot Coffee bug or Microsoft and Sony were going to discontinue sales. It's the only console game that has ever been sold even temporarily with the AO rating. They were never going to be able to ship and keep all of that and it seems likely their lawyers contacted them immediately and made them aware that the game couldn't be shipped on Microsoft or Sony platforms in any country that follows ESRB ratings.
Not going to happen? It already happened. All I want is the game as it was on the day it was released. No more, no less.

Living in N.A. the adult rating is extreme. Its an m rated game due to censorship no one even fucking wanted. Also, it was totally possible to set up the game.with far better parental controls which is the only reason most countries censor this.

Sony, doesn't care, they outright ban AO titles, ALWAYS. As does Microsoft, AND Ninty.

The game was adjusted because their lawyers very politely pointed out that Sony and Microsoft would have to stop sales on their platforms if they didn't patch, and would likely have to fully refund every copy. It is against the Microsoft and Sony terms of service for selling content on their distribution networks to sell games on the Xbox and Sony stores that are rated AO, which day one the ESRB was discussing adjusting CP2077 to due to the adult sexual content contained in the game. It is also illegal for the content to ship to most retail stores in that manner. Wal-mart and Gamestop both ceased sales of San Andreas during the period it was temporarily rated AO, as they lack the licensing to sale those products. The patch will not be undone, except by modders on PC, because the game is on multiple console and therefor they are unlikely to be willing to deal with that level of content adjustment. Learn the laws on this mate, and write you congress-critter if you happen to live in the US, as it is primarily driven by US and EU consumer laws, not the gaming companies themselves.

Agony on Steam did it, though. and AO content is fine on Steam, GOG themselves host AO games, but, other distributors, I don't know.

Don't know about Playstation, but I'm looking at the Microsoft store right now and the game is listed as "Mature 17+, Nudity, Use of Drugs, Blood and Gore, Strong Sexual Content, Strong Language, Intense Violence" Seems pretty clear what you're getting. O r what you were getting before the changes were made.

Yeah Steam is a bit ahead of the curve on this because Valve has a more forward leaning ownership structure, while US consumer law plays the biggest role here, Sony's reticence to host the content is related to consumer laws in Japan. Sony has never been willing to host this type of content, and has always been the first to drop sales because of it, due to the nature of Japanese censorship laws. The EU has similar laws pertaining to the sale of AO content in normal retail stores and has some interesting laws pertaining to restriction of pornography which may apply here as well. The US gets the blame because they usually play host to the major lawsuits and related news stories related to this type of content issue.

Yeah I'm good with that.

It's all there, though. It's just lessened and not to your standards. The ratings board has their own standard, they don't even TELL CDPR devs what those standards are. The devs, only options are re-submit or accept, or go without a rating.

The ESRB would have adjusted the rating on Cyberpunk in January when their offices reopened. The scenes with Meredith Stout alone, in the No-Tell-Motel, were enough for that. The game as shipped was not MA17+, it was AO. 'Strong Sexual Content' per the definition of the ESRB is partial breasts, not to include nipples. Factoring in the romance scenes where the strong use of a strap-on for shenanigans exists and is heavily noticeable and implied and you are treading straight into AO content rating. I doubt the sex scenes with various companions stay in the way they currently are, as it WILL push the rating to AO.

Police censorship is watching you

LOL No. Nudity is fine even in full frontal, just not with an erect male or open female, and not with those parts combining. The issue becomes AMOUNTS of varied nudity.

Also, when the nudity is in conjunction with sexual movements, again, amount, time and length.

None of these are explained during rating. Devs just have to keep re-submitting.

But ya...
They said they passed on a note to the devs on the censorship being a key player issue. So it should be addressed come Jan or Feb, but they said "may" address it, and are deleting any posts now that bring it up, silencing criticism.
I guess that's fine, but only so long as they do in fact address it within a reasonable timeframe.

Awfully nice of them to explain why they are kicking the rating back at a certain level. I was unaware that the ratings had been adjusted to allow full nudity since last time I read them, I've been living in Japan for the last decade. I still think CP2077 is on the bare edge of what both Microsoft and Sony will allow, as the content isn't that different from what was in the 'Hot Coffee' disaster on PS2 and PC. The only saving grace is that it isn't third person.

Yeah, Japan, censors the nudity on consoles, that's them.

Here it always was fine, it was how they submitted the nudity here causing issues.

For example, nudity in Leisure Suit Larry's college was fine but there was too much of it, the sex scene was fine but had to be pulled forward a bit to hide some grinding, even women fully nude turned out alright as long as the happy place isn't open and visible inside, like someone shaved, or not tucked in, or the guy just being flaccid is fine..

Anything that goes to consoles, period, must receive M ratings in America universally or be censored abroad, and most don't want that. So, what companies do is tone done games entirely to sell them everywhere, but ESPECIALLY, for my nation, because of those massive sales.

Well sorry for the console ppl thant but what made CDPR great in the first place was PC gamers not console ones. Why we have to suffer for console people is beyond me. And why i can buy a console title in which you can rip someones head off in all detail but the moment someone shows a nipple or a penis and everyone loosing their minds is beyond me.

And why everyone has to pamper the US and their ridiculous moral system is beyond me as well. You can take a toddler to wrestling, boxing or car races. Especially on car races ppl could die and sometimes do. But the moment someone sees a nipple it is a national security matter.........

What a joke.
