Very good. Resuming the game of Cyberpunk 2077 to enjoy the new patch 1.5. Well then. I'm not going to write about the patch. It is not my intention to address technical aspects, but to discuss curiosities beyond intriguing throughout the story. And I want to mention one specifically.
After all, who really is Judy Alvarez?
Along with Panam Palmer, she is one of the most beloved characters in the game. However, there are passages that draw attention and are intriguing.
I will quote them:
1) At one point, Judy tells V that she doesn't like people very much;
2) She works in the ND production business, many of which are NDs with death and pornography (it becomes very clear when V meets her introduced by Evelyn Parker);
3) She and V rescue Evelyn from the scavs;
4) The meeting of Maelstrom members with mysterious subjects (mission of the prophet) takes place behind the building where Judy lives;
5) And now the most intriguing: Judy's van appears parked in front of the entrance of the Maelstrom "base" that guarded the Ebunike ship that served as a hiding place for Adam Smasher! It's exactly the same! Identical. See the photos.
Now let's get to the speculations about some of the points listed:
1) Which gang really doesn't like people? Maelstrom. This is so true that they promote brutal and profound changes, disfiguring and denaturalizing the human being. Judy confessed to V that she doesn't like people very much.
2) There is a mission where V needs to rescue an NDX where father and son are being protected by Maelstrom. Who knows the most about NDs in Night City? Judy Alvarez.
3) The most common shootings in the north are between..., scavs and Maelstrom members! Evelyn is handed over to the scavs. And Judy joins V in the rescue.
4) Why in so many places in Night City there has to be a meeting between strangers with the Maelstrom people right behind the building where Judy lives? Strange.
5) And what is Judy's van doing at the Ebunike docks?
They could be mere coincidences or even CDPR errors. However, coincidences and/or errors accumulate.
The truth is Judy never really liked anyone. If you choose a female V and make a romance with her, after Mikoshi is destroyed and decides to stay in Night City she simply leaves you, putting her own interests above romance.
My thesis stands:
Who you think is the villain is not really the villain. And who you think is innocent is not such a good person.
Kerry said Night City is a city of shadows.
Does Judy have her shadow too?
This could be a subject for future expansion and it would be great for CDPR to develop these theories.
