I absolutely agree I wanted to make a thread about this as well. I haven’t given out a GG in days because every game is infuriating with the amount of locks and removal spells. I started using Keltullis because I’m sick of dealing with it. I just sit back and watch cards burn now. It’s sucking the fun out of the game. There needs to be some limit on specials cards. And fix the Witcher trio ffs. I had someone playing SK and he put nearly thirty points on the board by the second turn using discard to get two cards on the board then Witcher trio + roach and tactical advantage buff. It was unwinnable by the second turn.
A simple provision limit for special cards would make the game so much better and fixing the Witcher trio would force people to make more creative decks instead of stealing round 1 with tactical advantage + roach.
Why in the world would you choose 3 "identical" card with a 7 provisons plus 9 provision roach just to put down 12 points? There is surely a single card with 30 provision that can counter that? Or double boost hand, you can lay down 18 points or whatever. Wow, how great.
For me playing a single cow (6 provisions), basically counter their silly 30 provision move.
Maybe you need a more diverse deck if you have problems with people killing of your "most important decider card"?
I have a terrible time often with Norther Realms against Nilfgaard and all their locking. But what do I do? I lure them into using their locking cards first on some bad cards of mine that still put's points on the board, then I play my more powerful card when I believe they run out of locks etc. Same goes for destroying cards.
Skellige? Sure, put some shitty high value cards on the board immediately and it cancels their whole destroy 1 by 1 plan. Or use artifacts and force them to put down cards with actual value first.
If you end the round with 4 cards on hand when they try to use the tactical advantage of putting down alot of points fast and passing, then your fine. Sure you get less card swaps, but you will have 10 in 3rd round, and they will too.
