I haven't played in a while, since 2024 according to Steam. I have the full game with the Phantom Liberty DLC. I have been using the game with a GeForce RTX 3060 in an Akito node TB3 enclosure. It's generally worked fine - I logged 177 hours in the game.
Now it's asking me to update my Intel Iris drivers. I haven't been using the onboard GPU with the game so it SHOULDN'T be even trying to use it without asking. I want to pick the GPU to use, I don't want the launcher to try to be clever about it. My preference is to lunch directly from steam. The launcher takes dozens of seconds to start, so that's a major downgrade there. Launching the game just hangs and I need to kill both processes. I wouldn't say the game started up fast before, but it did so in less than 15 seconds.
It's highly annoying to me when the game auto updates and then the game forces me to spend a couple of hours updating drivers I am not going to use when I just wanted to jump in and play for a half hour. My NVIDA drivers are up to date.
