AGGH! Wrong FORUM! [SPOILERS]

What the white frost is generated from? How can it "travel" through worlds? Reading some book in the game i thought the white frost was the "thing" between worlds and the mages of the wild hunt can open a portal to let it through. But how can the white frost get through by itself in the world? How can the white frost show itself in the world if it's outside?

Can someone clarifly this?

You are mixing to independent frosts.

The travel through the space and time is a very special kind of magic reserved to unicorns, sources (like Ciri) and natural magic portals (common mages can control them but not create them). The wild hunt doesn't have sources, it need to work with pre-existing portals.

The first frost is a secondary effect of the magic used by the wild hunt to "travel to" and "temporary remain in" the witcher world. This is the frost I guess you say it travels between worlds.

The other frost is the white frost predicted by Ithlinne's prophecy. There a lot of superstition around it but also there are science behind it. Ithlinne was a female elf who predicted the world of the witcher will go through a severe glacial age. She was an astrologist and oracle.

what do you mean a secondary effect? in the keira metz quest geralt says "it's the white frost, mages of the hunt have summoned it" or something alog this line. Where do they summon this white frost from? From their world that is already dying from the white frost of the prophecy or the thing between worlds like i read in some in game book?

Thank you

Wild hunt has limitations to travel to the witcher world, the novels don't go deep about this. It seems they stays embedded in magic while stay there and one secondary effect is low temperature around them.

I don't remember that. May by I had choose different dialog options and miss that line from keira. Is hard to tell without the exact quote.

And beside that, be aware about the data coming from sorceress. Most of the time they had their own agenda and only tells Geralt half truths.

The "white frost" is the cataclysm predicted by Ithlinne, is not something product of magic, is a natural phenomenon. The wild hunt didn't summon it.

I did think you was confusing the low temperature surrounding the wild hunt and the cataclysm predicted by Ithlinne.
The low temperature surrounding the wild hunt is the only "frost" generated by the wild hunt.

In the books it's described more as a natural ice age caused by the planets tilting on its axis, and eventually the heat-death of the universe.

In the games I'm not sure they seemed to make it into some kind of evil magic that travels from world to world and covers them in ice.

It is unclear, it potentially has both a magical and scientific component. There are mentions of it being some kind of magic phenomenon. Yet at the same time, certain dialogue choices will reveal Avallac'h simply referring to it as entropy. Perhaps it is purely a natural occurrence and the magical scholars in the past wrongly attributed it as magical (I believe there is an in-game book that implies this). If this is the case, then Ciri is somehow using her powers to reverse entropy.

I'm have played a little more than 30 hours and I'm still in Velen. I didn't know this game implied that.

I think you'll see what I mean once you're done. I don't want to spoil anything more than I potentially have already.
