Alvin from The Witcher 1 (Witcher 1 SPOILERS)

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, loving all the posts about the lore so far.
Alvin, the little kid from The Witcher 1 who had magical powers, disappeared in Murky Waters full of fear.
In TW wiki there's speculation regarding who he really is. It says he could be a young version of Jacques de Aldersberg, and thanks to his magic he could travel through time. Honestly I do not think he is the younger version, things would be a lot easier for that mad man if he had been able to travel through time.
Those who have read the books or lore around the internet, do you think Alvin come up anytime soon in TW3's world? Or is he gone forever?

Probably gone forever. Devs said that Witcher 3 story is basically standalone experience, so I doubt that they will bring him back.

sorry but alvin = jacques

there is too many evident: grandmaster telling geralts things witcher taught him when he still was "alvin" and he has this medalion - simply alvin was killed by geralt !!
but who cares this cheap imitation when we will have true and only one elde rblood Ciri

I highly doubt he will make an appearance, my guess is that at most he might be referenced by one or two characters.

He should be gone forever as we killed him at the end of The Witcher 1.

All the evidence has led to Alvin and Jacques being one and the same.

Yes. And Jacques is mad because he is a Source, and a Source which is not been trained by someone with skills in magic, gone mad. As Alvin was.

Alvin was kind of like a Stand-in for Ciri in the Witcher 1. Since we have Ciri now, the developers have no need for Alvin anymore.

Alvin's story has been concluded in The Witcher 1. He is Jacques and you kill him.

Don't see a reason to retread this plot thread since it wise nicely wrapped up with in one game.

A mention or hint would be nice though!

These other guys are pretty wise... but between me and you, Maurofd? I say he will. CDPR loves nothing more than incorporating and expanding upon the lore they've already set the foundation for. The reason people think Alvin is Jacques is because ripping a portal and traveling through time/dimensions is something that only happens to the most innately powerful magic users(such as Alvin) and is wildly uncontrollable(as in it happens during times of extreme stress), so Jacques would not have been able to utilize this power.

Although I wouldn't be so sure you would recognize Alvin.... he may appear as a young adult under another completely different name....

I can only wonder.

Or its the debilitating effect unfettered time travel has on the juvenile mind of a feral source. I like how with this theory even Jacques' irrationality is explained. Yes Alvin appears to have been essentially a body-double for Ciri, but its worth pointing out Jacques does not necessarily die during the events of TW1, when the king of the hunt demands his soul, he's still alive...

and welcome to the forum Maurofd :)

The REDs made a fine onion out of those characters in TW1, with these narrative specifics remaining unresolved for many without an official stamp, and while i'd get a kick out of a full reveal & resolution, it'd be far more in keeping with the series to revisit that narrative aye, but just to add another layer or two of obfuscation ;)
