Hey guys,
I just wanted to bring this "issue" to your attention (as many have tried before) to see if maybe CDPR can see this post and hopefully address it in a future patch.
The "issue" basically is that the game is not fully utilizing all CPU cores (and threads) on AMD CPUs with 8 cores or more.
I'm calling it "issue" due to the fact that the devs mentioned that they worked with AMD to fix it on a previous patch, although I'm still seeing that the game is not using all my cores (and threads) while playing, which in turn causes my framerate to drop to about 40 FPS while driving in parts where there are lots of cars.
I have a Ryzen 7 5800X, 16 GB or ram (3600 MHz) and an RTX 3080. I've tested the game with all settings, and this issue always occurs.
What do you guys think, and what's been your experience like? I've seen videos of the game running on Intel CPUs and this "issue" does not occur, as it properly uses all cores (and threads) there.
I've added screenshots to demonstrate what I'm talking about. Additionally, I would like to mention that this is most noticeable when playing with ray tracing due to the fact that RT has a heavy impact on CPU usage. Although I normally play without RT and DLSS (due to how blurry it looks), I can still see CPU related framerate drops.
Let me know what you think!
