An error occurred while updating The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt(corrupt content files) in Steam

I tried delete the The witcher 3 multiple times and after a playing a few moments later, i got an error when Steam tried to update my my game. How do I solve this issue plz ?

Update: I went and check the x64 files, I found that witcher3.exe is missing. Plz help

It’s probably best to let Steam verify the integrity of game files:

In case you are using mods, keep in mind that those can cause issues too.

I tried everything on the steam website, but what happen is that it keep on validating for hours without downloading a single file from the steam server. I afraid if I delete the game and redownload it again, the same problem will arise and I don't have any other option but to do the same thing over and over again.

Unfortunately, reinstalling is most likely your next step, if nothing else helps.

Before doing that, make sure that your antivirus program isn‘t removing TW3 files for whatever reason. Disappearing .exe files are often caused by that.

Should you have TW3 mods installed, it might be more complicated though.

kind of a frustrating issue, but deleting the downlaoding files in the steamapps folders fixes the issue. There is a detailed guide here - https://droidtheory.com/fix-steam-corrupt-content-files/ which helped me in fixing the issue on my elitebook
