[Announce] HARDCORE Graphics Options Menu MOD

***UPDATED for W3 V 1.12***

Hello everyone...
i'am very proud to release the Ultimate Graphic Options Mod (UGOM)
You are able to set highest and lowest possible values of settings you like and watch them ingame instantly without doing config tweaking and restarting.

you find the MOD here:

UGOM on Nexus

Installation on clean Witcher3:

1. head to your YourWitcher3Directory\bin\ and make a Backup of the config folder
2. Open UGOM.rar, inside you will find a bin folder
3. paste the bin folder into you Witcher3 YourWitcher3Directory\ (overwrite the folders and files requested)
4. For best experience Install Missing Localization String Fix Mod
5. open the game and have fun with the new graphics menu

You also can try the alternative version with UGOM in video menu

Installation for updates >=UGOM1.08:

a. Head to your YourWitcher3Directory\bin\ delete the config folder
b. Head to your YourWitcher3Directory\Mods delete the old modUGOM
c. Open UGOM.rar, inside you will find a bin folder
d. Paste the bin folder into you Witcher3 YourWitcher3Directory\ (overwrite the folders and files requested)
e. For best experience Install Missing Localization String Fix Mod
f. Open the game and have fun with the new graphics menu
g. when using other mods like:

Ultimate Lighting Mod by KNG
Appearances Menu Mod by CAPA14
Random Encounters by erxv
Field of View (FOV) Slider by svaalbard

you might have to reinstall them

You also can try the alternative version with UGOM in video menu

NOTE:
- make sure your user.settings in documents\The Witcher 3\ is NOT read only
- sometimes graphics wont change...if so reload map OR restart game
- if this did not help try deleting user.settings +bak
- dont scroll in left Menu Panel it will result in bug
- changing some values especially gras foliage and shadow high might resukt in Ultra LOW FPS
- some settings dont effect anything
- settings with description are heavily tested, no description means self explaing or unknown effect
- ALL THIS IS WORK IN PROGRASS, I MIGHT ADD OR DELETE VALUES FROM MOD

Compatibilty:
- not yet compatible with mods using baseEffect.ws, hudModuleBuffs.ws, igmOptions.ws
- should anyways work with other menus mods such ask KNGs ULM

Known bugs:
- sometimes sliders reset to zero postion but values are accepted
- sometimes graphics wont change(reload map, restarting game, or last option...delete user.settings)
- "Back" Button in left Panel is missing(well not missing you could scroll down but its bugged)
- Scrolling with mousewheel in the left Menu Panel will result in bug
- changing MipMapBias to very high may result in green lightning
- some settings wont load immedeately, turning camera or walking is needed for taking effect

Thx for the help of all ppl who posted in this thread

Any help is appreciated

origin post
UPDATED--- NEW achievements are HIGHLIGHTED

for Version 0.01 I planned:

-Foliagevars(everything has to do with gras and trees)
-Cascadeshadows
-increase NPC limit to 300
-more framerate locks(25/35/40/45..).
-xxxHideDistances
-MipMapBias
-multiple memory budget options
-optional description text for options version

I could implement every setting that is in user.setting maybe also rendering.xml

The Image describes it a bit...(First Build will be English Language)

So if you got any suggestions, ideas, questions or wishes for it, tell me here :D

Problems to solve:

- Cant edit true-false variables yet
- creating a submenu makes the string look like "Panel_mynewsubmenuname"
- havent found a neat way yet to put a little option description onto the sliders.

Can you list planned options and ranges for said options? for example, how high can we set each, and in what increments?

for Version 0.01 i Planned:

-Foliagevars(everything has to do with gras and trees)
-Cascadeshadows
-increase NPC limit to 290;
-more framerate locks(25/35/40/45..).
-SwarmHideDistance=200
-DecalsHideDistance=80
-DimmerHideDistance=60
-DynamicDecalsHideDistance=20
-StripeHideDistance=60
-MipMapBias
-multiple memory budget options

I could implement every setting that is in user.setting or rendering.xml

It is even possible to split the optionclasses for a very own sub menu... for example a special menu for foliage another menu for hairwoks and so on, but there are some difficulties i havent a solution for yet.

Maybe you should list each var in the OP? people can suggest things.

I'll put together a list of things that would be useful to have.

Wow fantastic! Are there any plans for adding information for what each option does. For example, I'm not going to remember for the life of my what any of the CascadeShadowDistanceScale options do.

This is brilliant.

May I recommend a little indicator be placed, or a different font color to flag performance heavy tweaks, i.e shadow distance.

Is an interesting Idea, but i think the color definitions are inaccessible...nevertheless i'll take a look
So I might just be able to put a Little Sign behind very FPS heavy options.

How feasible would it be to be able to set the env or lighting mod in use?

I thought about this too. But within the options menu only user.settings is edited and as long as .env files have nothing to do with it...changing lightning with this mod wont work...

Anyways i know how to set .env outside the game and there is even a way to do it on the fly...but unfortunately essenthy and KNGRSM are constantly ignoring my request to tell me the script for that :(

Tessellation is limited to a maximum of 64 times by DX11 limitation, it can't go any higher.

As for the loading environments on the fly:

ActivateEnvironmentDefinition( environmentDefinition : CEnvironmentDefinition, priority : Int32, blendFactor : Float, blendInTime : Float); < this function may be stored to environment ID as an integer to disable later.

DeactivateEnvironment( environmentID : Int32, blendOutTime : Float);
