Why not? Witcher TV series came out 4 years after The Witcher 3 and it was a success. Besides, I won't be surprised if CP77 will have expansions (and maybe even some form of multiplayer for those interested), thus support won't end in 2020.

Yeah but, Cyberpunk theme anime was around already. plus if this is not connected to V in anyway it won't be the same as Witcher series, and i think that Witcher show was crap.
Never said I liked the show, just that it boosted the sales significantly.
Also I am sure they will be "CYBERPUNK ANIME FROM CREATOR OF CYBERPUNK 2077 a videogame available on etc" as part of the marketing.

I love the world CDPR created (yes, based on the tabletop, but they ACTUALLY BUILT the world as a complete and explorable 3D environmental space).
Anything based on this would be awesome. It's a perfect mesh of RoboCop's Detroit, Mega-City One from Dredd (2012), Blade Runner's LA, the Escape Snake Pliskin series, Ghost in A Shell, Akira, San Fransokyo, and to an extent, Bay City from Altered Carbon.
Anything set in this world would be awesome.

maybe adding a DLC to the game when u go to sleep in ur apartment u wake up as Johny Silverhand in ur dream and explore the night city years ago and get to know Johny better, what he did might also have an impact on the present
If the writing is similar to the game's it shoule be called Cyberpunk: Edgelords.
