I'm sorry, did I miss the part where he specified in-game content? Don't people buy Collector's Editions because they get more content in them?!

You're going to use a quote that is obviously talking about the game and use that as reason for non-game content?

Wait, you mean that opening the box, seeing all the content in it, turning the page of the manual, seeing the artworks, putting the music CD in the drive and listening to the beautiful music, installing the game for the first time, ect... isn't part of the experience? Wow, well, I guess things definitely change, it's sad really.

With sadness I realize that some people are still miles away from the REAL point of the conversation which is the downhill road of exclusive deals. It may be insignificant now but it WILL get bigger if you just let it. See the bigger picture, you are watching the tree and miss the whole damn forest here. Seriously.

I disagree. For me the experience begins when opening the box and having a cloth map besides me while playing is a also a part of my gaming experience.

I'm sorry, but you're making a huge assumption, since he never said anything about treating gamers equally only for in-game content. Or are you saying he was being deceptive on purpose?

#1 "We are treating all gamers equally,"

"We'll not deliver exclusive content to any of the platforms, nor will we artificially delay release of the game on any of the platforms because somebody's paying us money for that. It's definitely against our values. We are not doing that."

#2: We are excited to announce Gwent, a card game experience embedded within our upcoming game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are also thrilled to reveal the inclusion of additional physical content in the Xbox One Collector’s Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

He did not specify in his first qoute if it was purely on digital content (or ingame), or all content to the matter (physical).
So those saying they did not break their promise, have as much right as those that say they did.
For me, they did break this promise.

Do you even know what "lying" means? When CDPR reveals CE, they had no idea that they will get a deal with MS. You can't fucking lie about something that you do not know about.

Look at this quote from May this year:
"We are treating all gamers equally" - Marcin Iwinski

Indeed, not a lie at that time, I suppose, but those words are false now and one of the meanings of the word lie is that it's a statement contrary to the truth, so, yes, it's a lie at this time, even if such statement was true earlier. And everyone would think such statement by Marcin would reamin true, which makes things worse.

This "assumption" is based on what they did i.e - refuse exclusivity deals with retailers for in-game content which is the experience and everything else is extras.

You seem to miss the point.
If they give something extra now, what's to stop them from doing it again? I remember the summer conference were they stated all editions would be equal on all platforms. I remember them even stating that they just had one edition because they found at the time that there should only be one version.

It's not about some stupid cards or a cloth map (at least not for me). It's about trust, loyalty and most important cdpr's Image. Just look at the comments here and the ones on facebook. You should read the comments on facebook. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. They knew most people would be at least annoyed by it, right? Did they need the money so bad? Was it all worth it, I ask myself? Or were there more reasons than just money that I don't know off? These are questions that for me need an answer though.

What they did now did something to cdpr's image. The savior of the gaming industry is gone. Forever. Trust is earned very slowly but can be lost in an instant. Read the comment on facebook. for every 100 reactions there are 2, maybe 3 that aren't about the exclusive items.

Most people here are with the Witcher since the beginning and those are mostly pc gamers. They bought the game, they bought the second, they pre-ordered the thirth. some even twice, digital and physical. And then cdpr says 'Wait, forgot to mention, we indeed have some exclusive items.'
And why, and I repeat my questions. Money? Was to money worth the loss of trust in the company? I beg to differ.

Then people not getting any CE should also be pissed, since CD promised everyone the same experince. CE or not.

I really don't get if you are sincerely don't understand, or just use completely irrelevant thing as a rhetoric. We get not just CE, but a regular edition. Those who buy it do not get any physical content exclusive to CE, and it is not treating ALL GAMERS equally. Nobody never treat everyone equally, in any area. What Marcin said was about the in-game content, and not about physical crap they put in boxes.

How about they add another statue to the Xbox version, too and some other great stuff - all for free of course? Now that would be great, wouldn't it?

Wrong again.

And "sidspyker" censored my post labelling it as an insult since he wasn't able to comprehend that the subject of that sentence was his post and not him. Terrible censorship.

Back on topic -- You're wrong.

Person A and Person B pre-order the SAME product at the SAME time for the SAME price, and has the dealer's promise that they will be treated equally.
Months later, the dealer decides to give Person B extras for free with the product.
Person A has been cheated and lied to since Person B is now getting more than he is, he is no longer being treated equally.
Dealer lied, and is cheating Person A.

No you are wrong because that's life. I have seen this happen many times because it happened at my workplace. When a customer bought a car for the normal price he accepted the car for the agreed price. When there is a special deal with that car, let's say you get a few options on it for free. The customers who bought the car before this special deal have bought less car for the same money, exactly what has happened here. Does this mean the customer who bought the product before the deal should receive the same deal or get their money back? No, because at that time you both agreed on a price.

As another example: When you buy a xbox for 400 bucks (or how much it costs without the kinect) and a month later they announce a price drop. Does that mean you should receive your money or the difference back? No because you bought the product at that time for that amount with the included content. That's why a lot of people will not pre-order games anymore because at the end of the day, when you wait long enough you can get it cheaper. Now I know this is kind of strange to wait till a CE drops in price. But ordering a collectors edition is to show your support for the game and the company early on.

It seems you do not know what a slippery slope fallacy is.

Here:

In logic and critical thinking, a slippery slope is a logical device, but it is usually known under its fallacious form, in which a person asserts that some event must inevitably follow from another without any rational argument or demonstrable mechanism for the inevitability of the event in question. hate to break it to you but if you actually take some time to read and digest his post, you would realize that the <<People>>he was talking about are the people who are raging and if you actually bothered to read some of the posts here, most of them do share his sentiments.

He does not need to be elected as a "representative" to voice out the majority's stance on the issue, a simple educated observation would show that.

Great first post...
I did read his and other people's complaints. I disagree with your assessment.
