Some of you should accept and respect that some of us have principles how to deal with companies and people in general. I usually don't buy CEs, only cheap digital copies. I wanted to buy the CE of W3 on top of my usual Steam copy to show them my support. I don't want to do that anymore. It was already said that they decided to make W3 a console game. But now console customers even get more exclusive stuff? You know, I don't give a fuck about their reasons, that's not my concern. My concern is that they crossed the Rubicon, even if only a bit and I'm not willing to support that with even one of my hard earnt euros.

You know, I would never do it, because there is still 6 months to add something for us PC gamers. I have been with the CDPR since 2007 and I can't cancell my preorder. Just look at that statue. Which company make their CE statue from polistone? None? Probably. And which is 100% handpainted? Probably none as well. Only the statue have twice price than a CE. It wasn't good thing I admit it, and firstly I was angry, but the game won't be changeing, and the CE without the cloth map and the cards is still one of the best in the market.

Comon guys! You were the untouchables! I thought you were different. But it turns out you're not. How disappointing. You can say whatever you want and explain it in many ways, you just lost your golden status.

XboxOne players will be sheering. But how do you think the PC and PS4 gamers feel right now? To most of them I think you lost that silver shining edge. And you just prooved once again that "Money Talks" and that you couldn't resist the temptation.

Microsoft already caused a negative storm towards Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics because of their exclusive deal on the new Tomb Raider game. (Which turns out to be timed exclusive by the way). One thing is for sure... Microsoft appears to be desperatly seeking for ways to enhance the sales of their console. And a bag of money seems to be the magic ingredient to do so...

So sad this... you were untill this, a special studio. But not anymore... You got a stain on you that doesn't wash away... even if it is a small one...
Why? Why did you do this?

you were late to the party, everyone's pretty much calmed down now. just accept the fact that they are just a game developer and still needs to make ends meet for their other upcoming releases. i, myself would probably still buy their titles and everything but the magic is gone now. shouldn't expect too much i guess

CDPR, you broke my heart! :(

I will cancel my PC preorder of the CE as soon as I am back from holidays.

Why? It's not about my money or the real value I get. It's about politics and behaviour of CDPR, about respect. With this decision of CDPR I don't feel being respected equally anymore as a PC gamer and customer of the Witcher of the first hour who helped them to get big in the first place.

It's really sad that business is the only credo at CDPR anymore. They were the chosen ones. A small light in a sea of darkness. But the light is gone. They are not credible anymore with their weird anti-DRM propaganda to market GOG and their turn to exclusive stuff and console.

So I will stay with my copy on Steam because I'm still looking forward to play the game. But I don't plan to support CDPR by any other means than buying the cheapest digital copies of their games anymore.

You expected better from CD Projekt. I certainly did expect beater from you.

Cards and map are fringe content. The core game is the same across all platforms, which is what naturally matters the most to you as a gamer. You are not being deprived of anything you've paid for; others are being upgraded for free. I fail to see how your support to CDProjekt from the first moment, commendable as it unquestionably is, has any bearing on this matter.

It's really sad that business is the only credo at CDPR anymore. They were the chosen ones. A small light in a sea of darkness. But the light is gone.

You have no one to blame but yourself when you idealize to this extent, put them on such an elevated pedestal they themselves never asked to be placed upon and then Reality says Hi!. CD Projekt RED is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Sound business practices such as cooperating with partners is what has allowed them to make AAA RPGs. Had they decided to rely solely on PC Gamers to fund TW3, it certainly wouldn't turn out half the game it is shaping out to be.

They are not credible anymore with their weird anti-DRM propaganda to market GOG and their turn to exclusive stuff and console.
Now you're just spreading FUD aren't you? Their track record with regard to DRM is solid and you have contemporary statements from top REDs reiterating their stance. You can cry wolf but only if you take things out of the most blatant context can you suggest they didn't do good by their promise and from there trampoline into suggesting their DRM policy too is in peril.

So I will stay with my copy on Steam because I'm still looking forward to play the game. But I don't plan to support CDPR by any other means than buying the cheapest digital copies of their games anymore.

Your prerogative. I think in a few days, weeks, months you might come around. Or REDS might change their stance. To this hour I still can't figure out how they didn't see the storm coming. It baffles me.

And you should accept people disagreeing with you can also live by the very same principles and still feel they haven't been violated in any shape or form. Please do not insinuate those on this side of the barricade lack a moral backbone when it comes to dealings with companies.

Again, to me this move seems like a terrible idea from a mile away simply because of the quite predictable backlash. But then again I don't know - and neither do you - to which extent has this deal contributed to the viability of TW3. I'll tell you this though: If it ever came down to either striking this deal on one hand or having a less ambitious TW3 and possibly compromising future tittles on the other, I would have signed my name on that contract with Microsoft with no hesitation.

For the moment, I'm done with this thread.

Take care mate.

Hah.

I'd understand the fuss if it was about the game. Exclusive extra content or shit like that. But for some swag...?

O tempora O mores.

But I guess people have their priorities.

Hey, I want cards and map! I love maps and cards!
And I don't like Xbox. At all!

I've already preordered two copies - collector's edition for PC and digital on gog.com. I thought then: "CD Projekt Red are cool guys, why not?"
What now? Change PC edition to Xbox (fortunatelly, still available) and buy also standart for PC, because I want usable disc too?
One more copy of game? Third? Seriously?
I like CDPR, but not enough, especially now! (And it doesn't matter, what exactly the differences are - not from them I was waiting for such a bad move)

Of course, the main thing is a game itself, and I wait it more, that any physical content. I can't say I was fan of Witcher from first second - I knew about games only month or two after release of second part (and how happy a was to have a collector's edition, first in my life!), but I really like it. Books, games, characters, whole world.
And I want cards and map! In all collector's editions, or separately, available in my country - but possible to get in normal way without this... Xbox collector's edition.

CDPR literally selling out their principles?

Hey CDPR!

Why have you decided to give preferential treatment to XBOne?
Why betray every other game collector or fan on the other platforms?
Why after all you have done would you shit on us like that?

This just looks like a blatant case of selling out your core principles. I have nothing against MS, XBox, or XBox gamers, but to shaft your fans so you can pocket some extra cash from MS is pretty disgusting, and something you used to stand against.

Where are you principles? I can understand MS using every tool it has to claw its way back in to the next gen fight, but to take their money and give them special treatment is the antithesis of what CDPR is/was renowned for.

Exclusivity is anti-gamer, and anti consumer, but most importantly its saying that one group of fans are more important to you. That you would deny certain things from fans who are just as supportive, give you the same level if income is indefensible. How much money was it that would cause you to give the finger to the majority of your fans? (there are more PC and PS owners then XBOne owners by a factor of at least 4-1). Was it worth tainting your image, and flushing one of your core values down the toilet? Can we expect more of this in the future? How much money will it take for you to offer exclusive content, or hell even platform exclusivity?

MS is doing what it can to to build and promote its brand, what you've done is devalue your own.

I am an avid collector and you now providing exclusive physical items to one platform is nothing short of betrayal, especially to those who like me have been ardent supporters back with the first game! Even so I would be just as angry at a PC exclusive. I thought better of you, but it seems that any principle can be beaten down with enough cash. For shame!

I am livid, and beyond disappointed. Why would you do this to you BIGGEST fans?
We collectors are more vested than most, and for that reason this betrayal hurts more.

How big a fan am I?
I own:
2 copies of The Witcher Collectors Edition
2 copies of The Witcher Enhanced Edition
The Witcher 2 Collectors Edition
The Witcher 2 Premium Edition

But now I will not be able to get the most complete edition of the CE for my platform because you find taking money from Microsoft to be more important than your fans.

What could possibly make you think its ok to fragment you fan base? Why would you say that the section of fans is more important than another? Why you tell long time fans and new ones alike that their money and support if literally worth less than another groups?
Why have you betrayed one of your founding principles for dirty money?

In short dont treat you fans differently.
PC gamers, PS4 gamers, and XBOne gamers all deserve to be treated fairly and with respect. We are all consumers and fans, and all we want is to be treated justly.

The Wild Hunt was always going to be a huge game, so there was no need to take money from MS, so why do it and alienate some/many of your loyal fans?
