I guess that could be possible huh? And I hate to wait to play the game but I'm a collector at heart and even with having to wait when I do actually play the game, I'll enjoy my experience more knowing I have all the great Witcher 3 goodies.

Question though: Does anybody know if the the game included in the CE is exactly the same as the standard release in that they both include everything inside of their game cases?

If they do like they did for The Witcher 2 for PC they will simply add the entire box of the Standard Edition inside the CE as it is. Unfortunately you cannot compare the PC version to the XBOX version because the two collector's where VERY different (I own them both so I'm 100% sure about this), but then again the xbox version came out a year later and was already the Enhanced Edition, this time since the game will come out pretty much at the same time on the three platform is more likely that they will keep the packaging consistent between those 3. I cannot say for certain of course, but I'm almost sure they will not change the size of the box just for the cards & maps so it's my hypotesis that they would probably be given as a separate premium object at the moment of sale (unless there's still space inside the original box). Again it's just my hypothesis but if this turns out to be true maybe they could consider the idea to please everyone that I suggested in my previous post... ;)

@Halbaron,
In the polish speaking section of these forums someone cited an interview with Marcin Iwiński taken directly from the CDP blog. He extensively discussed that they're aiming do deliver equal ingame content across all platforms.
Also I saw alot people in here referencing the EUROGAMER interview without even mentioning that the article kind of hinted at somekind of marketing exclusivity deal between CDPR and M$:

yes, they should have revealed all editions at once. maybe they'll do that for future games, would be nice.

I see, but for those who do not speak Polish, the Eurogamer interview is the most popular source.

And in this interview Iwínski stated only that "We'll not deliver exclusive content to any of the platforms, nor will we artificially delay release of the game on any of the platforms because somebody's paying us money for that. It's definitely against our values.". The question remains: What is "content"? Futhermore I don't know if the blog entry or the interview is older.

Near of 130 pages have been be writen for seeing someone making the real issue of this pandemonium!

Was It so hard trying to start this thread with this little question before insulting and attacing like bersekers?

Even in the case there were a "broken promise" about equality of treatment, have you never broke a promise in your live?

I'm a PC user, it's the first time I do a foolish like buying a pre-o9rder CE in my life and the only promise I will not forgive to CDPR it will be the No-DRM and the high quality of the game, and their presence in this forum reading all they can read when they can do it. The rest, ciriously, when I see that some one of you has registered in this forum only to disclaim against CDPR in this thread.... well, no words.

Oh! Please take a look here ;)

Is it really that hard to imagine that this evidently controversial announcement has upset some fans and costumers to the extent that even people who aren't inherent forum posters and registrants, are now taking extra steps, appearing and voicing their thoughts, opinions and worries?

Hmm...this is all very interesting. I think that the main reason why people are so upset is due to the reputation CDPR have. And this, to be honest, goes against this.

I think the story starts with Microsoft. They seem to be throwing money at everyone. Look at the outrage about the next Tomb Raider. I think the Xbox1, which has had it hard since it's reveal, is simply being outsold by the PS4, and Microsoft are throwing money at some of the biggest franchises in hopes of bumping up their sales.
The Tomb Raider thing also suited Square Enix who keep saying how much they lost with the last Tomb Raider game, even though it sold over 6million copies! If they need 6 million copies to break even on a game, they need a series reality check. Nevertheless, they were in the news a while ago about maybe not being able to make another Tomb Raider, and having to lay workers off. If this is all true, they were probably only too happy to take Microsoft's money for a timed exclusive.

Now since CDPR don't do payable DLC's, and console-exclusive ingame content, and i doubt they'd agree to a timed exclusive (they've said all this in the past), Microsoft's bargaining power was a little stifled. Let's give CD the benefit of the doubt, and say the cards and map were probably the most they were willing to do, and the least Microsoft would accept.

Honestly, if a deck of cards, and a piece of cloth is enough to get CD some extra sales, which means more money to make better games for us, then let Xbox owners have it. It's cards and a piece of cloth guys, come on.

Also, let's have a look at what you are actually getting, because what CD offer in their standard copy of the game is unheard of at other companies. Especially for the price, especially for the PC downloadable version. The collector's edition content is jaw-dropping awesome. You'd not get the same from other companies. You simply wouldn't. You'd have 10 different versions, all offering something different, and none giving you everyting you want, and you'd be paying for extra in-game content.
Not to mention that the game is DRM free, that the forums are helpful, moderated well, and frequented by CD staff. The customer service is run by actual human beings, and not robots who promise to 'get back to you', or 'pass on your concerns'.
And i have full confidance the game will actually be a quality product and not require 10 patches, and crash each time you to go smell the roses.

So yes, i understand people are upset. But come on. It's not that much of a problem. Besides, have a look at the pre-order page, it does say that they might add some more to it. They even said this in the W3 version reveal video a while ago. So they haven't decieved anyone. And who knows, they might add even more to the PC and PS versions. And if they don't, hell, i'm getting one heck of an awesome package as is.

It is not fair with PC and PS4 fans. BUT is nothing in game... AND it is just a map and some cards... Not a collector's edition soundtrack or whatever. That would be total war.

So, to start off: My appologies for earlier posts. I was venting some steam and kinda throwing gas on a fire.
Now I've cooled of, I want to show what the reason for the outrage was.

The reason for the outrage is because in this instance, it is (or seems) that CDPR are the ones adding things to the CE. When places like amazon and other retailers do it, it IS different. Why, because that's what they do from time to time. And as far as I know noone from the devs have posted about a 'Bolstering of the Amazon' retail verson. When a devs says they are adding something to a specific console, it screams sellout in the ears of customers.
CDPR was praised many times over for their opionion on threating all platforms the same. Amazon also does this, but they differentiate with retailers. The rage comes from CDPR being the advertizer, being microsoft's window that makes gamers think the MS and CDPR are best buddies so go there for more stuff. That's the rage. If MS had done this on their own and advertize it, the backlash would be much smaller (if none at all). It's CDPR praising their 'Bolstered' XBONE edition.

One thing this discussion showed me is how the sense of possession seems to have changed in recent years.
People would be more upset if a digital content would have been exclusive and not some physical content. Have we really reached a point where digital things are more important and have more value than physical things? If this is the case no one should wonder anymore why free to play models are so successsful and why companies want to add ingame stores and ingame items you have to buy with real money into their games.
I am sad to see this deveopment as for me physical content is alway worth more than digital content...

I agree with the rest of your post, and I still trust CDPR to deliver an awesome game and make the best of it as they did with the previous ones. And as long as I can play that card game within the Witcher 3, it's okay for me.

It's just that many people want to have "everything" connected to a game and I can understand that as well. But imo the main issue is the date of the announcement.

I clearly prefer a great game without much extra physical stuff than a crappy game with lots of stuff.

Yeah, uh, games are in and of themselves not a "physical thing" and the game is still the core of what I'm buying here. As someone who pre-ordered the game on GOG and for PS4, I feel a bit gypped now with basically the one version I decided not to buy getting this card deck, but the truth is that I probably would've flipped through it once and then put it away forever. Extra content in the game, though - that would be a problem.

I actually wanted to say that we badly need a moratorium on the word "experience" in videogame PR copy. A "card game experience"? Really? Isn't it more like a minigame? Or a game mechanic? Or why isn't it enough to just say that aside from dice poker, there's now also a card game? Everything's an "experience" unless I'm unconscious when it happened. I "experienced" the need to poop this morning.

I can't say that I'm particularly upset that Microsoft managed to buy something extra because they always do. That's their thing.

What irks me the most is that, in my country at least, ALL the versions of the collector's edition have been sold out for over a month so in the end what does this gain anyone? All it does is annoy those of us who didn't make that choice based on information that didn't exist at the time.

You can't encourage pre-orders on something that is already sold out. Perhaps this isn't the case in other countries but it is here. I couldn't change my mind now if I wanted to.

My exact thoughts. It's really, really not a big deal yet folks are acting like CDPR announced exclusive DLC for the Xbox. I can't get over some of the comments, I truly can't.

Now the question I want to ask is, will Gwent be available for separate purchase someday or will it be forever collector's content? Because if there is one thing that hype me more than anything when is come to game related physical objects, it's objects that have an usage, and what better than a card game, MtG-style, taken form The Witcher universe! I get that these are exclusive items but will there be any different version of the game sold at some point? It would be fantastic, to be honest.
