Even with the additional goodies, the buyer of the XB One will still have the worst experience of the game, because it is the weakest system (except from old PC's). And if I can choose between higher resolution and framerate or a cloth map and two teck of cards, my choice is clear.

It's another reason not to buy the XB One if you don't have a console yet. Microsoft is pushing it with this sort of promotion because they know that PS4 is selling twice as much and PC gaming hardware even more. But with this kind of goodies, you can't make the console any better.

Now the question I want to ask is, will Gwent be available for separate purchase someday or will it be forever collector's content? Because if there is one thing that hype me more than anything when is come to game related physical objects, it's objects that have an usage, and what better than a card game, MtG-style, taken form The Witcher universe! I get that these are exclusive items but will there be any different version of the game sold at some point? It would be fantastic, to be honest.

I think so, because there are just two decks in the CE which will work more or less as starter-packs. If they plan to build this up, there will be additional decks and Booster-Packs i believe. And they just said that a witcher store will come at a certain point ;)

That would be great, I didn't think of that but it would make sense now that you bring it up, thanks! :D

I can't say that I'm particularly upset that Microsoft managed to buy something extra because they always do. That's their thing.

What irks me the most is that, in my country at least, ALL the versions of the collector's edition have been sold out for over a month so in the end what does this gain anyone? All it does is annoy those of us who didn't make that choice based on information that didn't exist at the time.

You can't encourage pre-orders on something that is already sold out. Perhaps this isn't the case in other countries but it is here. I couldn't change my mind now if I wanted to.

Greetings from Germany to Canada!
Heard the same thing about Great Britain, but on German Amazon there is no hint that the CE will be sold out soon.

This is discrimination againts pc and ps4.I know you must have support of your partners but not so.The gwent kards are awesome and it is unfair angaints orthers.CDPR tolds they will not give exclusive content especially because it would someone pay them. They told how is pc important for them.Gwent cards should be given to the pc and ps4.I have pre-ordred pc collectors edition of game. The content is cool and good but this is bad stap with the gwent. And I told it again I understand that you need your partners but try help them with another way.PLEASE GIVE THE GWENT TO US TOO PLEASE
If you do this all world will never forget on this.
Thank you

And one of the reds, Rafal Jaki, said they would not make more. This whole deal was the most stupid I've seen in a while. Upset the fans, break your promises, lose your status as the chosen one and not even sell a whole lot more.

I guess I'm one of the few more upset for the cloth map rather than the card deck for a game I will never play in reality anyway :) still, I have to join the train of the complainers and say that this is a low blow from CDPRed, and frankly later excuses (with included sniping) doesn't count for much, giving that you certainly knew this move would piss your core fanbase beyond belief but you did it anyway, knowing that we either swallow it or we can only chose to get nothing instead. Yeah it's a little thing, but videogames are not a world changing issue to begin with :) ultimately, I believe you lost more than you gained from this move (and I'm not necessarily talking profits), but if that's ok for you, your call.

Did anyone say the game is going to suck now? I didn't see it.

Clearly a lot of people expected better from CDPR though, including me (PC CE preorder). People can argue they didn't explicitly say CE content will be equal, but it goes against the entire spirit of in-game content being equal or treating all gamers equally. They also announced this way after CE preorders sold out and mostly affects people who spend the most on Witcher stuff CE buyers.

Drama was always my least favorite genre, and physical cards thrown in at MS's expense are hardly an "in game" asset. Yeah I know people are talking about how it still counts because "spirit" something or rather, but I think the Ouija board is busted and some people are writing their own messages.

The justification is simply not good enough.

The main issue here is not that you've provided exclusive physical content. The issue is who you are providing it to. I have always respected CD Projekt Red's commitment to anti-DRM policies. Now you are granting exclusive content to a platform that was one passionate consumer response away from implementing the most stringent DRM gamers have ever seen? Microsoft is a wolf in sheep's clothing. They haven't suddenly "seen the light". As soon as they are able, they will be right back on that DRM train, and in some small way you will have contributed to that with whatever increase in sales this CE provides them. It seems that the tiny bit of increased exposure was worth selling out on your core principles, and after this backlash I can't imagine it will have been worth it at all. And only days after Microsoft, in typical anti-competitive fashion, paid a publisher to take a game off of a platform on which >50% of their fanbase resides (Tomb Raider). How can you not see that as an entity, Microsoft is bad for gamers? Instead of improving their platform, their philosophy has always been taking away from others.

I'm still going to purchase The Witcher 3 because the good you have done far outweighs this misstep. But please be honest with yourselves, and enough with the excuses. You have, absolutely, lost a little of what makes you special in exchange for what will ultimately be a minuscule benefit from increased exposure (and it may even end up being a loss; you've alienated a majority of your fan base). This is just one mistake, please do not continue to do business with Microsoft.

I won't believe any future comment by CDPR on 'how much they love PC and respect their PC fanbase' because they don't. Did they show any M/K gameplay at Gamescom? NO. The only thing they announced was a console exclusive ultimate collector's edition! Thanks, CDPR! I got it that console is now where your heart and especially purse is. I'm honest with you: if I had to choose between a much smaller but PC and purely vision driven game and the Witcher 3 we know with all the console gameplay and marketing crap coming with it I would always prefer the first option. Sorry, but to me your Gamescom attendance was more or less a selfmade PR disaster and the last proof that PC finally isn't your no 1 platform anymore. And that's very, very sad. I hope you will be happy with all your console money. I'm certainly not.

There were early interviews where they talked about a PC centric UI. Is that still planned?
I wouldn’t say so, now we’re doing the game for all platforms, so PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and we needed to adjust it accordingly so you can play it equally well on the pad and on the keyboard as well.

well that says all

i thought they finish the game first on pc then port to consoles well its seems not

http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/cd-projekt-red-make-collector-s-editions-of-the-witcher-3-equal-on-all-platforms#share

A few more to go, it might not do much in the end but it's still a way for us to further demonstrate our dismay. And perhaps when its complete, gaming media might up on it and bring forth more discussion or a well deserved PR backlash or nothing at all! But I won't sit idle and shrug things off.

EQUALITY FOR ALL RAC-... PLATFORMS!

I'm with LordCrash. PC gamers were promised a PC centric UI and now things are changed and PC must follow consolized UI menus. CDPR has clearly lost their values and they are no longer who they are. They are now catering to the mass audiences and i'm not surprised future games would be rated PG13. A simple PC centric UI for gamers was compromised. Equality? Parity across all platforms? Should PC not get additional graphics or visuals like the consoles if these are true? They should make the best for each platform not equality. Consoles are meant to be played using a controller hence the consolised UI. KB&M with consoles UI is definitely wrong.

UI is PC centric. Grid based and it all fits on one screen like good games of old. It would work wonderful if they implemented drag and drop and mouse controls well.

They're working 12 hours a day seven months before the game is out to deliver a prime experience they don't need to waste time on creating a new PC UI when what they have is good, just so you can feel special.

Must we not forget that, despite this, CDPR is still one of the most gamer friendly company in the industry right now, fighting for DRM-Free, free DLC, no in-game content exclusives, ect...

I just felt like it was important for us to remember that before sending CDPR to the crucify...

Granted some do need to calm down still. But it is kinda understandable.
-What they said long ago about threating all platforms equall, was a breathe of fresh air. To the ears of many it meant they will not be paid off to do something special. They're developing a game they are passionate about, period. That's why we prided ourselves for this dev. Why they got praises.
Now, it seems if Sony were to walk up to them, they too would get exclusive goodies. I doubt steam will do something like that since its a digital only platform. But the point is:
It is now fully believable, that if there is enough money, there can be three different CE's. One for Xbox, one for PS and one for PC. The fact that they too are now fully liable to do this is the reason there is still an outrage. Granted it may seem like it's slowing down. But man, they have the lost something from loyal players......
-But they do still have their good points, like DRM free etc.

What we must remember, is that CD Projekt Red is a publicly listed company working for its shareholders. Everything else is just PR talk that can change very quickly, as became evident this week.
