That's what I've been wondering as its still not showing in UK main retailer stores on XBCECloth Map and Cards are North America Exclusivity or the Europe CE will get those ?
CDRed should reply this question...That's what I've been wondering as its still not showing in UK main retailer stores on XBCE
What distributors and retailers get around to displaying is not something they can control.CDRed should reply this question...
I still hope CDPR will pack them with every single CE.i Hope, can buy Gwent and Cloth map alone (ebay, or other)
Amen to that.To those complaining about the extra content for Xbox One: I understand that it is somewhat disappointing that CDPRED is giving exclusive content. However, I must say that I am disappointed with the response of fans of the Witcher series. I was under the impression that these games were being developed for adults, but all I hear is a bunch of crying children. There is no excuse for cancelling your pre-order just to spite CDPRED, even if you do feel that you are being treated unfairly. Here are is why:
1. Microsoft has done the most marketing for the Witcher 3. While I don't think that this means that CDPRED owes them anything, I do understand the reasoning behind it.
2. IT IS A DECK OF CARDS AND A CLOTH VERSION OF A MAP YOU BE RECEIVING ANYWAY. I would expect that a fanbase made up of adults would be able to get over missing out on two items that are not in any way relevant to the product they are purchasing.
3. If you have read anything about the Witcher 3, you should know that Xbox is already getting the short end of the stick graphics-wise because, well, it's Xbox. So I only think its fair that those who have the inferior game-machine get an extra toy to make them feel better about themselves.
Stop lumping all witcher fans together. I couldn't care less about few items coming in ce. If it was some exclusive content in game, this would be entirely different issue. I am just surprised that they are choosing xbone platform to get some extra stuff when most sales will come from pc.T However, I must say that I am disappointed with the response of fans of the Witcher series. Don't know about other people, but personally, it's about the principle. CDPR said "No exlusive content for anyone". CDPR then went "NOPE, JK, LOLZ".To those complaining about the extra content for Xbox One: I understand that it is somewhat disappointing that CDPRED is giving exclusive content. Yes:Has CDPRRED already told us why they gave MS the extra content in the CE?
UPDATE - Statement from Marcin Iwiński, CD PROJEKT RED co-founder:
Looking at the heated comments, I believe that our announcement of the physical addition of two decks of Gwent cards and a cloth map, requires a further word from us.
Here at CD Projekt Red, we always put gamers first. Our PC versions are released DRM-free, we bend over backwards to give you the most beefed up editions of our games (be it standard or Collector's), and we deliver the same game, regardless of platform or version you buy. Moreover, we promised not have any exclusive DLCs, neither per platform nor per retailer, and we do stand by our promise--nothing has changed, nor will change in this regard.
Don't get me wrong, I do understand that these extra items might be desirable for Witcher fans playing the game on other platforms. However, as we are not offering any platform or retail exclusive DLCs or any other form of gameplay differentiation, we do have to find other ways to support our partners. We are also providing special pre-order items for certain retailers around the world, including Witcher comic books, posters, steel books or medallions. Funnily enough, we did not notice any heated comments on the pre-order specials.
What is the reason? Why are we doing this? We need the support of partners to make our game visible worldwide. This should hopefully translate to better sales, which will in consequence allow us to do what we have been doing for the last 10 years, i.e. reinvest this money to make more great RPGs, while still sticking to our values.
If you still consider that adding two decks of Gwent cards and a map of the in-game world to the Xbox One CE equals us betraying our values and not fulfilling our promises, well, it does make us sad, but the final call is always yours to make.
Still, I do hope that what we offer is unique and we can ask you to give us the benefit of the doubt. We have more great things to announce for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the coming months and I promise you won't be disappointed (yes, yes, there are no more exclusives coming).
No, it's not.As others have highlighted already, examining the text of the now infamous interview partially mis-quoted above and concluding that any lies (knowing or unknowing) were told therein is making a subjective decision since anyone reading it objectively - without personal bias - couldn't get the same impression.
None of the clear declarative statements have been broken and the remaining linguistic brawl hinges on each individuals interpretation of just one word. A semantically confused word here applied as a classifier without any hint of a modifier to help define some limits on membership - "gamers".
content (ˈkɒntɛnt)
n
1. (often plural) everything that is inside a container: the contents of a box.
The company clearly meant ingame content, adding the CE goodies is a way to conveniently stretch their comment. No, it's not.
The content of a normal edition is only the game itself. The content of a collector's edition includes all the trinkets.
It's not the same content for every platform.
It's actually basic english. Here:

I don't get it, aren't they supporting their partners by releasing game on their platform? Isn't that enough of a support?we do have to find other ways to support our partners

The marketing costs of the witcher 3 are huge about 25 000 000 USD, MS paid part of those costs (i guess a large chunk of it), gave them a front stage in their XBOX one conference and responsible for the marketing of the xbox one version of the game. Do you think that MS will give so much money and services for free?TW3 will cost at least 110 000 000 PLN (34 000 000 USD), out of that 40 000 000 PLN is for production and is paid by CDPR, and marketing budget (25 000 000 USD) will be paid by distributors and publishers in advance and deduced from the copies they sell.
Ofcourse not, they get cut from the sales, it's in THEIR best interest to market tw3, cdpr doesn't owes them, they should be thankful for getting the game, xbone library is rather poor. The marketing costs of the witcher 3 are huge about 25 000 000 USD, MS paid part of those costs (i guess a large chunk of it), gave them a front stage in their XBOX one conference and responsible for the marketing of the xbox one version of the game. No, cdpr almost went bankrupt because of failed xbox port of the first witcher, it had nothing to do with marketing.Remember one important thing, CDPR almost went bankrupt after marketing the witcher 1 and again after marketing the witcher 2 both of those games cost less then the witcher 3.
