Another Thursday, another adventure!

Feel free to downolad next Witcher adventure - 'Tribute'This time you play as a muscleman drunkard and your task will be to save the inn from being burned by evil Basar. You must prevent the only place to sell and consume booze in the neighbourhood from being destroyed! The adventure has two different endings.--[How to install]------------------------------------------------------Installation for Windows XP:1) Copy the ADV file to the Shared Documents\The Witcher folder. Easiest way to find this is in My Computer. You should see a "m1_module.adv" filealready in this folder. If not, it's the wrong folder.2) Enjoy.Installation for Windows Vista:1) Copy the ADV file to the Public\Public Documents\The Witcher folder.2) Enjoy.

Another adventure, yay!Can you please tell us something about Guz, who's listed as the author of this adventure?Edited to Add: I just played this, and with one of the choices, it was mostly fun. The other choice seemed inconsistent; I got to (non-spoiler phrasing) act one time but not the second time, and that seemed odd.
By which I mean that Long was able to kill the first bad guy and all of his men but had no choice to take on the second bad guy, even when said guy was in the middle of killing a friend of Long's. If Long was hot-headed enough to take on the first group of thugs, it seems odd that he'd stand passively by while his friend was executed. Yes, the chief bad guy was his brother, but we already know that Tough has killed more than once; it's hard to imagine family feeling staying the hand of someone who's watching a friend be executed. While I liked most of the module, I didn't like the fact that Long had no choices about his brother but just gave in to the bully each time, regardless of what choices he had made about the ghost.
Also, I have a bug report:
I did the drinking contest with the old man, and he told me that he'd given me a reward, and Long thanked him for the orens. But Long had 110 orens before the contest, and he had 110 orens after it. I checked his other possessions, but he hadn't received anything else, either.
Thanks for making this and for sharing it with us, Guz.

Just in time for the weekend; beautiful, thanks! :)Is this part of some evil RED-HQ plan for world domination or something, to have us all spell-locked by new adventures every other weekend so that we don't see what you're up to? :D First, it was Geralt's bum, now it's new adventures; gee I don't know, guys, are you lot trying to bring about a REDapocalypse (REDageddon?) or something, and if so, for what purpose? :D

How can Long kill the Greviers? He does not have the weapons that would be needed, nor are there any herbs to make a sword dressing. :dead:

You know, I have a vacation coming up. I was REALLY planning on getting stuff done this vacation. Maybe work on my fansite. Design some flyers for my hubby's bands. Go shopping. Go to a party. Whatever. But noooooo. I think CD Projekt RED has it in for me. Here's another mod up already, and I still haven't played all the way through the enhanced edition. I can see where all my vacation time is going already. Excuse me while I go sharpen the Witcher Swords and brew up a few potions. Geralt's got some more fighting ahead of him, making sure he has a place still standing where he can continue working on killing off his liver with bad alcohol. Thanks guys. ;D                :dead:

It IS hard to kill the graveirs; you need to do a lot of running around. Or you can form an alliance with them and have them kill the bad guys, instead, if you pick a different line when you talk to the ghost.

Hi PanKarol I want to say first I'm a “Noob” when it comes to installing a “Mod.” I'm also very new to “The Witcher” forums. I've ordered “The Witcher” Enhanced UK Uncensored version. It has not arrived yet. I have a couple of quick questions. Do you play a different character than Geralt in your mod? Can I assume from the title of your post that you have more Mods available? And my last question (well almost the last) is can you give me some tips about installing other Mods or point me in the direction to find the info out? The Mods I was thinking about are: Deception, Black Suit with Golden Dragons, Blue Skinned Lady of the Lake, and FellDudes v1.4 (clothing “optional” for Triss, Shani, and Adda.) Are these the type of mods that I can leave in the game as I play to it's conclusion? Thank you so much for any help you may provide :)Quai-gon Jinn

Hi Quai-gon Jinn,From what I have seen, some mods are you play Geralt, some are different characters. All the mods are played from outside the "regular" game: when you start the application for the witcher, you get a choice to play the regular game or one of the installed mods. so its sortof like a movie, then a bunch of short tv episodes based on the movie, but separate from it. (bad analogy I know, but its late). In the forums are threads on the mods, generally also information on installing the mods, plus in the forums you will find many of the modders hanging out (surf around the forums, you will see them). I know from the RedFlame team at least, Deception installs just by clicking on "install", but installation can vary depending on what version of windows you have and depending on the mods themselves.

Thank you for the Info Starwolf :)I do have another question, if you don't mind. With Mods like Deception and the two extra adventures that come with the "Enhanced" version, does it matter when you decide to play them? I know I'm probably wrong here, but it would seem to matter with reference to Geralt's abilities (how high he has leveled) in the regular game. Or does he have "default" abilities for the Mods or extra adventures? Is there a particular timeline that's best to do the Mods/extra adventures?Thank you in advance for any info you may provide :)Quai-gon Jinn

Your abilities in the main game do not carry over to the extra adventures, neither to the CDPR-made ones nor to the fan-made ones. Each extra adventure sets the player's abilities or gives the player a certain number of talents to spend on skills. That said, I recommend playing the extras after the main game. The CDPR-made ones have some difficult fights, so the more experience you have in figuring out the best tactics to use, the better. And some of the fan-made modules have references to stuff that happened in the main game, not really spoilers, but just echos of lines that you've seen before, to remind you of the main game, so the fan-made modules will be more fun after the main game has been played.

Thanks for the Info Corylea :)After reading many of the posts I had a feeling it would be better to do the extra adventures” after the main game. My game [Enhanced Version] has been shipped. Still waiting for it to arrive :( One other question if I may, if I try to contact any of the “Red” team members would they be able to provide tips on installing their Mods? I've been searching the posts and some posters have provided some VERY useful info, but being a “Noob” to modding I'm still a little unclear how to install the Mods correctly. I just want to make sure I don't screw up my game.I wanted to have the Mods I mentioned in this “thread” [post #VI] installed before I start the game. Thank you again in advance for any info you may be able to provide :)Ciao,Quai-gon Jinn

Hi Quai-Gon Jinn,Most modders and team members are very helpful, don't be afraid to contact people here. However, it is Holiday week, so they might not reply right away. A couple of the mods have "overrides" content, that has to be copied into a folder (and over writes some of the content in that folder). when you have those types of mods (that are played within the game, like the re-skins that change the game appearance (like clothing), or that are external adventures but for whatever reason have override stuff), then you make a backup copy of the affected folder BEFORE installing the mod. I name the backup copy something like OriginalName-backup-date. that way, if the mod DOES either mess up the game OR you don't like how it looks, you can just replace that folder with the original version from your back up and all is good. The mods don't affect the game engine, just some of the game data.Installation varies a bit depending on if you have XP or Vista. so beyond that general bit of advice, I'd have to defer to the modders.
