Any other ATI users with stuttering issues?
I have a very capable system, including a quad-core processor and an ATI HD 5800 card with 1 GB of memory. I just finished playing Crysis 2 at maximum settings with no issues. In fact, almost every game I play, I can comfortably get either High or Very High settings.
Not so with the Witcher 2, and it seems even worse after 1.3.
The game runs great on the "Low" options. Still an occasional hiccup, but mostly smooth. Unfortunately, the graphics are less than great this way, and to have to run on "Low" just seems ridiculous with the hardware I have. Even the "Medium" settings result in ridiculous lag and stuttering that honestly make the game unplayable for me. I'm on the latest ATI driver, of course, 11.7, but am very frustrated with the performance, especially after 3 patches.
Any other ATI users having issues like this? I'd love to know if this is a compatibility problem with the game's engine and ATI's current drivers or if there's some hardware conflict that's degrading performance on my system.
As I said, no other problems on other high-end games whatsoever. I know I have the horsepower to run this game at a high level, at least theoretically.
Thanks for any insight.
