if you actually look at the article or even the link to it you will actually see that this is about the patch for PS4 not Xbox one
If you read into the post it says, "Xbox One owners and those on PC also just recently received patches for The Witcher 3 on their respective platforms." Which isn't true because the Xbox One hasn't been patched at all yet.
i knew the article did also state the xbox one and pc versions have gotten the patch as well, i did read the full article. the point i was trying to make is that this article was specifically written with the PS4 patch as the primary subject of interest, and that while the mistake may have been made in saying it was out for xbox as well as pc, this article was not intended to tell people the patch was out for xbox but was to give information on the patch for PS4. sometimes people need to stop grasping at straws and just be patient. if half the people just posting to moan read a few of the threads out there they would see that the guys at CDPR are keeping us informed here as best they can and that possibly the issue they are facing has been covered and resolved in another post.

i understand how frustrated some people are about the bugs dont get me wrong, as you will have seen from other posts of mines i have been unable to play the game at all for days unless i start over from scratch which im just not prepared to do after sinking 40+ hours into my character. i just think that too many people are trying to use this as a bit of a bitchfest rather than use it for the valuable resource it can ultimately be.

I definitely agree with you... I've vented my frustration on this forum as well over the passed week (particularly about CD Projekt Red's lack of communication to Xbox One users over the week/holiday), but I get that the people at CD Projekt Red are probably just as frustrated as I am. I'm in the exact same boat as you (can't play unless I start from scratch, which after an almost 50 hour playthrough... that's just too disheartening for me to do), and you've definitely seen my posts (we've commented on the same posts and, I think, each other's threads)... so I completely get where you're coming from. I've kinda hit this point where I'm just happy that we will get to skip to patch 1.03 and that it's hoping to be here by Friday.
Yeah, I have to say I am only whining because I am in such complete love with the game! I dont get as much time to game lately so just dying to get back into the title. Hopefully as the dev mentioned we will have a patch around Friday. I would hate to lose another weekend to the bug.

I'm also slightly confused by Microsoft policy on this one. If they have such rigid standards that it requires a long turnaround between patch submission and public release, shouldn't the same hold true for actual game releases? And if so, how the hell did this game get through that originally with at least three different documented game-breaking bugs?

Yeah... I don't know what's up with Microsoft. They seem to limit certain things (mainly updates and patches... basically stuff that doesn't make them money) but then allow rushed releases (something they actually make a portion of the revenue).
As far as the patch goes, as far as I know we are getting skipped straight to 1.03... so whatever was in 1.02 is also coming our way as well. I do agree, I would like to see more issues addressed, but at least CD Projekt Red is showing us that they're making an effort to tackle the bugs ASAP. I'm guessing that the fixes in this patch is just the stuff that they've finished tackling.
