Anybody having trouble lately with lazy Geralts?

For some reason: sometimes he can only slash, and nothing more, and it's not due to poisoning because I've seen this happen at zero intoxication . . . and it's not because of pain effects because it's constant, from foe to foe, and never changes. In the past when I've seen this happen I've been able to fix it by changing the fighting style and then switching back, and then he's back to fighting normally again, but lately I haven't been able to fix it. Ever since I've begun Ch.5, ever since I've entered Old Vizima: all Geralt has been able to do -- no matter which fighting style or sword I choose -- is slash his sword once, left to right, and barely injury anyone. His attack is always slow, and I never get linked attacks. It's like this with every single opponent, every single battle, every fighting style, either sword.Tried loading other saves to see if they were equally affected: not the case.Tried restarting the game: didn't help. What's going on, here? Anyone have an idea?Highly annoying, really.

That sounds like what happens on my playthroughs. I usually try to clear it up by retreating from the enemy and re-engaging from further away. Proximity and angle seem to affect how well the game controls respond. Of course, I am playing on a laptop, so my visual field is rather compressed.

Yeah, problem went away, but... strange. Maybe it'll come back again, then go away again.Anyway... it seems I put this topic in the wrong forum, suppose I'd meant to put it in the Act V forum, although, really: I should've put it in the primary "Story & Quests" forum.Oh well, no matter.
