Anyone knows if the open-world activities are procedurally generated and endless or not?

I can't figure it out. I have the feeling that I've cleared an area and they don't show up back. I just wonder if it's madness to try to clean them up, I kinda feel the pressure of batman in gotham city right now.

or not.
they are predefined events. once done, they are gone.
individual groups of gang members standing around, gang fights, police in need of help etc, may be procedural, but they are not like real activities and more like minute random encounters. they also don't show up on your main map, nor do they offer any more than the eddies and exp you get from the bounty on the people.

Once you get into the open world, you do not have to rush to any of the main quests, even if they make it sound urgent. Instead you can just walk around Night City and clean out as much of the side activities as you like (if you can manage). I even advise you do so, for some better gear and some exp. It looks overwhelming at first glance, but most are rather short and can be done in a few minutes.

Its teh first open world i've come across where everything is 1 and done. One shot at loot...legendary/iconic roles. It baffles me given the loot structure that nothing repopulates, you can't farm anything to beyond a point. Since most mobs drop white trash the pool for getting decent epic's is crazy high since most legendary clothing is stagnant epics can actually offer better alternatives in certain slots and more so if your going for looks over squeezing out the most of your armor.

AFAIK everything that appears on the main map is a 1 and done. However there are groups of enemys that respawn all over the map but it would be nothing more a loot farm.

the ones marked by the map filter "Open world".

About the other answers, thanks, I kinda got the same vibe, I'll live through those relic malfunctions for now :)

Nope. Seems not.
I for one would really like it if crime activities in particular spawned randomly and went away after awhile.
I mean, for real. I can just imagine gangers sitting around with their victims waiting for me to show up and fight them. LMAO uh ... no

No it doesn't seem it is. To be honest, it doesn' matter. Since clearing these area don't bring anything more than money and xp. It's sad.

I woul like to see something really interestin with that:
- Dynamic criminal activities
- Cleaning area from criminal activity should affect how the civil sees you. maybe get some discount in lawful faction owned shops and grow your reputation toward law enforcement, corpos and the factions that are not part of the criminal activity
- Ignoring it would let it grow until ncpd is overwelmed and either bigger force like MaxTac is involved or a Gang/corpo take the lead, changing the dynamic of the district. Good luck if you get caught running over a civilian and see a MaxTac Navi rushing towars you playing Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyrie.

For that to happen though, we need real police chase mechanics, possibility to conceal your identity and hiding spot. Because just being able to drive 100m from the crime scene and going back 2 min later like nothing happened is very stupid.

I won't say no to everything you are describing, but honestly I would settle for random NCPD events. I find it very relaxing to start the game, go do a couple of bad boys encounters and then un-plug. It's shallow and basic, but I like the idea of keeping Night City crime low and I like the combat ;)

there are 3 types of ncdp events, the ones with a skull marker(it may have a different icon depending on type of mission?) will trigger an ncpd dispatcher call when you get close, the ones with a little bat icon will trigger a siren sound and event notice when you get close. the third type won't trigger anything but will show up as a blue star on the minimap. as i understand only the 3rd type is procedurally generated. i might be wrong.

once you're done with the first type, i believe the area is actually cordoned off and occupied by police npcs. the second type, i think the area is just abandoned.

Crime in Night City is supposed to be high AF. That's why the NCPD is asking for help with it. It's rampant and they're overwhelmed.

Someone else mentioned MaxTac coming in to deal with crime problems. That's not what they do. MaxTac exists SOLELY to deal with cyberpsychos.

Man I regret clearing out Northside now as I like the Maelstrom clothing but its all low level since I was up north a lot when I started.

So now I guess I can't go get higher tier gear from Maelstrom whenever I want?

Personally I think a lot of the crime should repopulate, since Night City has such a huge crime problem.

in my experience spots where normally enemies are found, e.g back alleys, normally respawn after a while. So something to kill endlessly does exists

On the way back from Sandra Dorsette quest MaxTac shows up to deal with a car jacking.

One of the devs said in a forum interview that everything is hand crafted and not procedural. See here. Its the 3rd to last question in that post.

Now there he's talking specifically about quests, but in my personal experience with the game it seems true for open world stuff too.

Seems pretty clearly not in my experience with the game.

The NCPD dispatches happen at predefined locations. They do occasionally respawn, but when they do it is identical to the first time I was there.

The first time you clear them, the dispatches have a lootable "evidence" chest or bag which contains a short story shard explaining background on the situation. These appear to be hand crafted and non-random. However, when the assaults in progress respawn, the loot doesn't. So, after that point, they are indistinguishable from procedurally generated content, other than the fact they don't actually randomize in any way.

CDPR got away with being able to say nothing in the game is radiant or procedurally generated, but it's really only a technicality. The quality of the open world content, especially after clearing it for the first time, is barely any better than Bethesda-style random world encounters or radiant quests.
