Anyone knows what's up with this place?

I found a place that looked like, to me, some sort of sacrificial altar - candles, bloodstained rocks. This was on the road leading southwest from Blackbough.
I don't recall this being connected to any quest or event.

Hmm, I believe that's just one of the numerous little locations which the devs intentionally created to suggest or inspire a story of its own, without a quest associated with it. I've encountered a few such sites, especially in Skellige, where the visual clues are meant to excite our imaginations, and we are left to guess what events may have befallen there. There are, however, some discoverable locations which are involved in quests, but only if Geralt makes specific choices. Examples are the Wolven Glade in Velen, or Fornhala on Ard Skellig. . . .

i think its one of those ambient locations they they thought may add a dlc quest later then never got around to it
