Anyone running any CP2020 games out there??

Just wondering how many of us are actually running/playing in a Cyberpunk game? Either PnP or over the net (email, Google+, Skype, etc)?

Myself, I'm running a game I've termed Gutterpunk. I've played/ran games on the street level, Military/Merc campaign, Police campaign, a Corporate campaign and probably a few others, but realized a while ago that I hadn't gone 'below' the typical street level game.

So Gutterpunk is just that, it's aimed at a low level, low income game based around a newly formed gang. Only a few sessions in, and it's certainly been interesting so far.

So, what are you running or playing in at the moment?

Afraid I'm not doing any PnP these days. I moved half way across the country from the old PnP gang and my attempts to find a group here have resulted in finding only "let's kill some more stuff" groups rather then anyone interested in actual RP.

Me neither. It's difficult to gather our gaming group these days with all the family and labor duties and when we gather is almost always to play D&D.

Anyway I always like to re-read the olde Cyberpunk 2020 books from time to time. Hope that the release of CP 2077 would help to revitalize the interest in one of my all time favorite tabletop roleplaying game.

Right now we are playing a themed game using our modified system. It is based on the Probability Broach books. Before that I ran a game based in the Dollhouse verse. We tried a low level game but one of our players insisted on antagonizing the cops, then shooting at them.

AH, players. Cause of and solution to, all gaming problems. To misquote a sage.

Starting a play-by-post game soon (The players are lazy bastards, they took over a week to make chars, one of them said he would but have not started yed), and this sunday (09/Nov/2014) my regular players convinced me to play PnP again an adventure we stopped a few months ago.

So here we are, on the road again...

P.D: If you are curious about the game the players have been chasing a corporate guy from Night City to Hong Kong and now they are going to the Walled City of Kowloon where they are going to find nasty surprises.

Heh. Just ran a game this past Friday night. ;-)

Four players; I currently have Biotechnica poised as the "big bad." One of their subsidiaries in Night City, Axiom Foods, has been working with the local mob, illegally disposing of hazardous waste (as a cost-cutting measure for Axiom.) One of the player characters (not in play last night), Green, is an eco-activist, who recently has aligned with Earth Liberation Front, an eco-activist / eco-terrorist group.

Everyone wants to find Green to "have a conversation" with him, for various reasons, but almost no one knows where to find him right now (as he's on the run.) However, one of his ELF associates turned up, and last session, it was seeing who could get to the ELF member first.

Trix is the Rocker, nee exotic dancer, working at the strip club to pay the bills in the interim. The ELF member was shacked up with her roommate, who also works at the strip club with her. Trix has no great love of said ELF member. All she needs is the proper motivation ($$$) to sell him out to the right interested parties.

Soren is working for Biotechnica security. However, he has his own agenda, as he actually wants to undermine Biotechnica, for the "business practices" they're enacting against the farmlands back in his native Belarus.

Grease is a soldier for the Italian mob, who aren't too thrilled about Green putting their business all over the Net. The only talking they want to do with Green involves fitting him with a pair of concrete shoes.

Detective Frank Colestead works for NCPD. He's interested in catching up with Green, but rather than trying to silence Green, he and Hammerman do, in fact, believe Greens allegations against Axiom and Biotechnica. They want to bring him in to put him in protective custody, and to get his testimony.

This is how I tend to run my games. There may be one, or several, goals within the evening's scenario. Sometimes the individual players' goals dovetail, sometimes they don't, and sometimes I set them deliberately against each other.

(Incidentally, the player that's playing the mob solider that was looking for Green is *also* playing Green, on those evenings when I write a scenario including that character. Ha.)

Good players make a WORLD of difference.
Once I had a situation in a fantasy RPG where one player hung her hubbys male character for raping his brothers female character.

I count myself VERY fortunate that I not only have a regular gaming group, but that they're good players, as well.

With Dragons Age Inquisition releasing in 5 days I don't expect to have much free time for the next month or so or I'd consider a PBEM myself.
