Anything Project Hadar

This thread is meant to discuss anything about Project Hadar, CDPR's original IP.

I have two ideas:

First, give and show the main character's weaknesses (Geralt and V were portrayed as perfect (inspiring, caring, empathic, righteous,...) - at least I don't remember any flaws (at all)).

The second idea comes from reading through some ideas on reddit - that the IP could be a blend of fantasy and scifi, like e.g.: Legend of Korra - the "4D magic":

Next to the 3D space humans are used to, there is/are other (3) dimensions that contain energy, which can be manipulated and made to influence the real world.
Such magic (remote energy manipulation) would require intuitive thinking, precision, and the ability to be able to steadily control it.

Divergences could cause problems - like instead of telekinetically cutting a bread, an unprecise caster could cut something else nearby. Focusing too much energy into a single point could cause an explosion. Etc...

Also, when do you think CDPR will reveal what's the IP about? Somewhen before the release of W5/6 and CP2? That is in like 4-5 years?

Other than the project name, all we know right now is that it’s their first original IP.

Some have speculated that it might be some kind of sci-fi/space opera type thing, based off of the project name, but all of their upcoming projects are named after stars and constellations, even the Witcher projects.

Unless something leaks, we’re probably not going to know anything for a long while yet.

I have absolutely no idea... and don't really see the point to speculate, since I will be most likely completely wrong
So I just wait patiently until the "reveal". But I'm sure CDPR will surprise us

The investor call today dropped two nuggets of information: as of Feb 28 there were 26 developers working on Hadar, and the IP foundations are set so they are shifting focus to the game.

Still no hint about what sort of IP it's going to be, though.

Whatever you like (Besides real world politics).

Depending on the section.

Most of the forum is dedicated to CP2077, but there's the "Community" sub-forum which is for off-topic discussions.

In which alternate games can be discussed. Including CDPR's other titles such as Orion (CP2) or Hadar, or even non-CDPR games (With there being a dedicated "Other Games" sub-sub forum)

Also, when do you think CDPR will reveal what's the IP about? Somewhen before the release of W5/6 and CP2? That is in like 4-5 years?

At a guess, I'd say probably after CP2's release.

If it were me, I'd want to build hype for the new IP as much as possible. So having it compete with information about CP2 and W4 wouldn't be desirable.

So once W4 and CP2 are released and people are enjoying those, you can start the hype train for the new IP (W5/6 won't have the same contention as they are a continuation of the W4 story rather than brand new titles)

But we'll see how they end up doing it and how they prioritize it relative to other projects.

Oh, totally giving the main character real flaws would make them way more interesting. Geralt and V were too perfect, honestly.
I like the fantasy + sci-fi mashup idea. 4D magic could make the gameplay really unique.
I doubt we’ll hear anything official for a few years, probably after Witcher 6 and Cyberpunk 2.

As far as understand, they will likely share us some things about Project Hadar this year. Probably not much, but still

And wouldn't it be great to finally play as a soldier of the Spanish Inquisition! Well, at least here, if not in Cyberpunk!
