Apartment Room

I kept going to bed in the beginning, thinking there would be dream sequences since Johnny was in my brain, but nope.

I don't care for display cases unless NPCs I invited over would comment or interact with my items.

There's also a computer at the apartment which has virtually no purpose, so that could have been a mechanic.

The shower should buff you for charisma or something!

I still can't wrap my head around why V has a slot on the weapon's rack for Saburo's sword. Like, why can't I choose which sword to place there? Why, after seeing the guy getting assassinated, would V grab his sword and PUT IT ON DISPLAY??

Yeah. The weapon rack should allow us to set the weapons to display. I would value aesthetics way above any kind of "achievements" of getting this and that sword or gun.

Looking at a mostly empty display wall pisses me off immensely, especially without any idea how to fill it with the myriad guns that I have, many of which are in my opinion iconic but apparently not according to the game.

dont know if it fits in this thread but does anybody know if 1.2 fixed the issue at the end of judys romance where she texts u that she sent you the picture she made in the pyramid song quest? always thought it would be most probably another one displayed in your apartment - but u actually never got anything after she texted you pre patch... any chance 1.2 fixed it?

That picture still dosen't show up no. Also the gift she says she sent when she's apologising for the drunk text dosen't show up either :(
There are still at least 3 job rewards that don't show up in your apartment that are supposed to.
1. An Aldecaldo Jacket you get for completeing Queen of the Highway for Panam
2. An LP record player and Vinyl LP that you get for completeing Tapeworm for Johnny.
3. A Kerry Eurodyne poster you get for completeing Boat Drinks.
I've completed all of these quests and I can't find any of them in the apartment, I also can't find any pictures of them online. They must be bugged because I bought the strategy guide for the game and it lists them in there as rewards that are possible to get.

Making player want to visit the apartment would be easy:
- add bonuses for sleeping/showering
- add simple customization (textures only, like that one mod on NexusMods)
- add ability to drop items and move them around, like in Fallout, so people can decorate their apartments (I do that in every 3D fallout game lol, it's so fun). I'm pretty sure weapons are already physical objects, they just need to be able to be moved around.
- add ability to call for your friends to visit your apartment, but that's a very wishful feature
- maybe add ability to display collected BDs, (not necessarily play them) + add ability to display unique junk items
- maybe add ability to bring joytoys to your apartment (and add temporary skill bonus for sex, like in Fallout games)
So in short, the key is more interactivity and customization.

Here is a crazy idea: find out if there is a mod in the making already and throw some lunch money towards the team, spreading the word. If not, get a hold of a modder team, ask them if that might happen (if it's possible technically). 'Cause the devs, likely, won't bother with most of crazy things that you, guys, gals and whatnot, want.

We can drool here all we want, no harm would be done, but let's be real, people. I'd much like if they could focus on stabilising the game, finally put it behind, as soon as possible and put as much effort on the upcoming (hopefully) story add-ons, because their previous story DLCs (for TW3) were one of, if not, the best I've ever played...which they'd have to fix a couple of times, too, because, again, let's be real :)

I think one thing that shouldn't be too hard to do technically and would add some life to the apt. would be the ability of displaying iconic weapons even if you haven't made them legendary yet.

An apartment expansion work from the devs would be worth its own DLC, really.

But there would be a lot to do, it wouldn't come out until sometime next year for sure. Especially if it involves multiple activities, rather than just being able to display weapons and beverages on a shelf. If people want things like the Romanced NPC to come in (and possibly stay) you'd need them to create a sort of semi-believable schedule for the NPC inside the apartment, so that when you come in, the NPC sometimes watches TV, or maybe dances to some song playing on the radio, or reads a book, or takes a shower; or maybe the NPC left momentarily and left a message saying he or she'll be back at a specific time later (which might even unlock side quests), etc.

That would require 1+ year of work easily (from a large part of the team).

Now, obviously, at least SOME of the things mentioned (suggested) in this thread "should" have been present from the start. But we all know that the game was rushed out, and should have been worked on for at least another full year instead. Chances are that - indeed - had the devs actually been granted that extra work time then V's apartment at future launch date (late this year or early next year) would have included those things (at least in part). For now, it's barebones, it serves a purpose only for story-telling and that's it. It's very disappointing to be honest.

But I understand why, they just didn't have the time (nor did they have the time to work on SO MANY other systems and feature sets in the game, it's crazy really).

1. They should limit the weapon capacity in vehicles drastically, and flesh out the storage room with the actual guns etc. being physically located there.
2. Create some lore around the fact that you can only acces some type of dark web from your computer in your appartment to do certain gigs or buy certain things.
3. Sleeping should be an actual thing you have to do in my opinion, but I understand why people don't want this.
4. Flesh out the tv/radio channels more (simply more content).
5. Customization would ofcourse make things a lot more interesting.

I also have that yes.
I found iconic versions of the katana 'Scalpel' and a purple colored one. Dont recall its name immediately 'something stick' I believe.
Both didn't show up in the display area which left me with: "then which one is it?"
There's also no way to find out what weapon was supposed to go in them? If it even works that way because I'm lost. And regretfully no longer care in the slightest.

the problems mentioned by the community (non-toxic) who love the game (apart from the bugs) is the lack of interactivity once out of the missions with the NPCs that have been known to them. adding interactions with them in our apartment or elsewhere (their apartment or bar) would make the immersion much more interesting (there are 4-5 characters to be animated and JALI works wonders). if they want their game to sell over time they will have to add time and money. It is not by adding clothes and cars that the immersion will be reinforced.
just sleeping or showering gives us bonuses and if we don't sleep or shower prevents us from doing certain missions would not cost CDprojekt much.
not having to upgrade his weapons at V either even if adding some animations in his workshop would be cool.
if one day this happens you will have to be very patient.
If that doesn't happen, too bad we'll have to cross our fingers for the next cyberpunk in 10 years XD

So... gotta ask; what's the point of having a apartment? It's not like V gets any bonuses for sleeping there, and the cache is nice and all for storing Iconics, but that pretty much sums up all your get out of your apartment.

There needs to be an incentive to return to your apartment. Maybe make it to where you have to use the internet in your room to learn up on the location of your gigs, sleeping gives you bonuses to your stats, the cache is fine, eating a meal grants a longer/better boost, etc. Just something that makes your apartment WORTH returning to. Heck, your love interest moves in to your apartment or at least can be found in your apartment. The shower is just RP, make it so that cleanliness impacts your social (I'm a katana build right now, I'm pretty sure nobody would want to talk to someone covered in blood).

I know the cellphone has it's purposes, but maybe your apartment is the only place you can select certain gigs. How about making crafting and upgrading be something that requires a workbench that you have in your apartment?

There's a lot of potential for the apartment being more than just a idle location you may occasionally visit. I'm hopeful that CDPR can do something to make it worth returning to your apartment after Act 1.
Well, there are few small decorations V can learn which are automatically added to V's appartment, even now.

Thing is, i am firmly AGAINST any ideas which would limit V's current capabilities. Like crafting only in V's room, getting some gigs only in V's room, being able to clean up blood only in there shower, etc - all that is bad, BAD idea. Why? Because you may like it, i may like it, but great many casual gamers will whine about "CDPR taking away my freedom!". And that's bad. The game has enough bad publicity as it is. If not for this situation, it could work, perhaps.

INSTEAD,

i think it'd be best to do two things:

1st, to _add_ new functionalities which is only possible to do from V's place, instead of limiting any already-available functionality to be only available from the appartment. And there's lots possible things to be added, which feel very natural! Like:
- how about allowing V to call in a number of joy toys to have some fun with V? Currently, we must go to Jig-Jig street to pick one up, but it'd be nice to also be able to call some for "room service", ain't it?
- how about adding several SEPARATE inventories to store all kinds of different items into them? Currently, with just one inventory for everything, it's one big mess, especially for any hoarder, to get through it all. Heck, even in WoW, which is soon 20 years old, we had different inventories ("bank", "bags", etc). Indeed, where else this kind of dedicated storage would be located, if not in one's home?

and 2nd, what Fallout 4 did rather well: namely, to provide ability for players to show off their posessions much, MUCH more than just few small decorations and couple short walls with guns.

I mean, did you ever visit Adam Smasher's room on Ebunike? Heck, that one has better weapon show-off than V's appartment, and not just weapons!

So,

i'd say, allow us to "place" and/or "drop" items we collect - and get them saved inside V's apprtment, possible to pick back up at any time, but otherwise just standing there shining their pretty models out. :)

In particular,

How about some wine stands like huge wine "walls" we see in luxury clubs and hotels in the game? There are 31 kinds of alcoholic beverages in the game possible to loot and buy, and some of those bottles look really nice. What if we could "decorate" with hundreds of those bottles, putting exactly "my own personal favorite" bottles in whatever patterns we want? Neat, ain't it?

How about similar thing for apparel? We can collect and keep dozens, even hundreds pieces of clothing, and some few of them are even looking quite fancy. And yet, in V's appartment, it's merely a few static pieces of clothing in a single half-open closet. How much better can this be made be? Tons better!

How about whole new area for all sorts of canned and otherwise packaged food, drinks, medicinal items? Heck, my V ends up with over a thousand healing items just from playing the (hoarding) way i do. I bet lots players have excess things they'd want to be able to show off.

You may say: "dude, but V's appartment is way too small for such things". And it is. But, as one no-cliiper discovered and published, there is whole unfinished FLOOR in the mega-building where V's appartment is, and it looks like that whole floor was intended to be for V to use!

Perhaps, future update will allow us to "expand" during the course of the game from a single appartment to bigger and bigger areas, where things like i proposed above would become possible? I hope it will! :)

If you follow this link it lists all the guns that fill in the blanks on the wall.

I have a black and red theme at the moment. But everything else that would make it truly your home? Yeah. This place gets way overlooked.

even here the mod community show more inspiration than the actual devs themselves... sometimes i hate beeing a console player y.y
I have to admit I'm deviding time spent in the game more equally between PC and PS right about now.
I dont have many mods in use, but the few I have are some things that really enhance the experience for me.
