Are New Adventures independents?

I would like to know if I have to finish the game to play other adventures like Side Effects,Price of the Neutrality or fan made stories or if they are completely independent games.

They are completely independent of the main game. But, the player starts at a higher level than in the main game and is expected to be able to function at that level. The independent adventures are also usually seen as more difficult than the main game, so most playes need the experience of having played the main game once in order to do well enough to have fun.The tutorial is in the main game, so if you don't know how to fight at all, you should certainly play the main game's Prologue and probably at least some of Chapter 1, as well.
