Are the dark items worth it?

I'm in Flotsam now, the dark set is pretty expensive! Is it worth it? What are your impressions so far?

Also, what's the best way to make that much money?

first and second sets form chapter 1 and 2 are worth it. I didn't bother with 3rd set because it was too expensive and 2nd armor was more than enough to beat the game.

It's not like they're unreasonably expensive and they pretty much turn Dark Mode into easy mode. Seriously, Blasphemer made chapter 1 a cakewalk and Oathbreaker was even more overpowered.

They definitely make things way easier but honestly, how many people playing dark mode will have the patience and money to make all these? If you ask me, it's not really worth it, especially if you want to feel like you're playing the hardest difficulty, you certainly don't need them to survive and likewise, you're not invincible with them, just able to survive more than say 3 hits. If you do want to get all 3 sets, amass a ridiculous amount of orens in chapter 2 before chapter 3 (after getting the second set if you want that), I'd say about 10,000 orens by chapter 3 and a fair amount of hardened and studded leather and robust cloth, cuz even though the diagrams are ungodly expensive, crafting them also costs plenty of orens. Unfortunately, there isn't much to use them on in chapter 3, so my recommendation would be to just get up set 2.
If you wanna make fast orens, arm wrestle. Seriously, idk if this works in flotsam but currently you get twice what you bet on top of what you bet in arm wrestling (so the dwarf in vergen you can wrestle for 35 orens, you get an additional 70 orens back wen you beat him, essentially making 70 orens per win), or you can just farm monster parts and sell them.

How are you supposed to farm monsters if they don't respawn? I've killed like almost everything in Flotsam n Forrest. I even killed the Kayran already which gave me 800 orens. But still don't have enough to complete the first Dark Set. I know it should be possible because I've seen a vid on youtube killing the Kayran with the full Dark Set. So he even completed it without the 800 Kayran reward.

Only thing I can think of doing is fighting in the pub for 20 orens each win (-.-)

Though have the steel sword already and it's pretty neat with the lifesteal.

Btw, Flotsam in Dark Mode is already easy without the Dark Set, when you get the Troll's Trophy (+9 damage)

Arm wrestle Big Max. 60 orens per match and the matches hardly take any time at all. I arm wrestled him for 8500 orens in my last playthrough just because I wanted the 10000 oren achievement and I was bored. The rate was something like 1000 orens in 4 to 5 minutes.

The caves where a LOT of nekkers are located respawn them everyday, its a chore but you can slaughter them and sell monster loots, meditate to pass a whole day. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

I bought them all and used them all. They're pretty powerful. In chapter 2 I farmed harpies near the Visionaries house, with all the candles, and kept running out and back in, for infinite harpies. The feathers sell pretty good. Did about an hour and got 2k or so. I'm doing it differently this time though, I've skipped the first set.

Don't get them unless you're going to save them for the next chapter. I crafted the 2nd set using the cheaper dark items mod but saved it for chapter 3. They turn the game into a joke if you use it for the chapter it's in.
