It's not. When you extract those mods it says "Redengine 3". Mods are working and I scanned it before on virustotal.Could be malware. I'd wait for a response from CDPR.
Nah, they looked legit to me. I mean, no one had even faintest idea about loading bundles via "Mods" folder, besides that we can edit existing bundles but not create new ones, and judging by the size of the bundles they were packed containing just the mod files. They have been taken down. I'm guessing it was some kind of hoax. I'm betting we'd at least have had a message about it in the news here. It was only on Nexus and is now not there.
It is ENTIRELY possible to make texture mods using current fan-made tools, however!!! (Thank you BUNDLE EXPLORER and associated author whose name escapes me at the moment!!!!!!) And I'm testing to see if we can do mesh edits as well.
Untrue on both counts, buddy. You can DEFINITELY load bundles via a "mods" folder, and if that was in the Nexus page's description it gives me a BIG clue as to who played this TERRIBLE, STUPID joke on everyone, as there is a mod or two on there suggesting JUST THAT as a way to streamline to modding process.Nah, they looked legit to me. Care to explain in detail?Untrue on both counts, buddy. Also, you don't ever need to create a new bundle.
Can you upload the mod files?Okay it works. I will upload a picture with unicorn Roach
It was uploaded by a staff member, not just by anyone. Maybe it was too early though. So please, don't get peoples' hopes up. When Redkit2 is announced, I'm betting it'll be by CDPR and not a Nexus account that anyone can make any name for.
That's not entirely true, there's still one step missing in the process: converting your edited texture back into the w2ent file format that TW3 uses. Unless you made it work, in which case I'm gonna need screenshots and explanationsUntrue on both counts, buddy. Also, you don't ever need to create a new bundle. Not really. Maybe a new DLC folder, but that won't be possible until Redkit if it'll even work that way. It is ENTIRELY possible to increase the size of existing bundles using newer tools than QuickBMS, however.
The Witcher 3 uses xbm as a texture format. That's not entirely true, there's still one step missing in the process: converting your edited texture back into the w2ent file format that TW3 uses. Unless you made it work, in which case I'm gonna need screenshots and explanations
