http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/310/?

If a thread or a post already exists please forgive me.

Unless someone is trolling by using CD Project Red as their user name on the Nexus... which seems likely to get squished fairly fast if it is false, then it seems promising...

"Uploaded by BlindJudge" it can be fake, but I extracted texture.cache and blob0.bundle - files are not fake, but looks like made by a beginner.

It says "staff" under his nick. He can't be trolling can he?

I mean I want to believe but I also don't want to get disappointed so I'm hesitant about jumping aboard the hype train here. Definitely interesting stuff, or a next level troll!

Could be malware. I'd wait for a response from CDPR.

It's not. When you extract those mods it says "Redengine 3". Mods are working and I scanned it before on virustotal.

Do you smell it? I smell RedKit's tires on the way.

It's legit in terms that it was made by CDPR, but i don't think it was released via proper channels.
This looks like a leak:
Primarily, this was meant to be released alongside RedKit 2. Example package is out while we haven't heard any details on the RedKit 2 itself? Seems legit.
It uses a method of loading unofficial bundles via "Mods" folder, but only texture/mesh edits work, attached script mods crash the engine, which may indicate it was meant to work with future/internal build of the game.

To me looks like an intern thought he's gonna be cool and leaked it, but in reality he just got himself in trouble for no real gain.

As it is, the pack is useless. Two script mods won't work on 1.08 and the example reskins are useless without the tools used to make them.

They have been taken down. I'm guessing it was some kind of hoax. I'm betting we'd at least have had a message about it in the news here. It was only on Nexus and is now not there.

It is ENTIRELY possible to make texture mods using current fan-made tools, however!!! (Thank you BUNDLE EXPLORER and associated author whose name escapes me at the moment!!!!!!) And I'm testing to see if we can do mesh edits as well.

Either way - my current modding list is:

- Griffin armor: removing GOLD!
-Cat armor: removing INDIGO!
-Color options for Wolven, Temerian, and the rest.

Provided mesh edits are possible:
- Griffin armor fat belly remover
- Removing weird, girly white collars from cat and griffin
- taking requests

Nah, they looked legit to me. I mean, no one had even faintest idea about loading bundles via "Mods" folder, besides that we can edit existing bundles but not create new ones, and judging by the size of the bundles they were packed containing just the mod files.

Untrue on both counts, buddy. You can DEFINITELY load bundles via a "mods" folder, and if that was in the Nexus page's description it gives me a BIG clue as to who played this TERRIBLE, STUPID joke on everyone, as there is a mod or two on there suggesting JUST THAT as a way to streamline to modding process.

Also, you don't ever need to create a new bundle. Not really. Maybe a new DLC folder, but that won't be possible until Redkit if it'll even work that way. It is ENTIRELY possible to increase the size of existing bundles using newer tools than QuickBMS, however.

So please, don't get peoples' hopes up. When Redkit2 is announced, I'm betting it'll be by CDPR and not a Nexus account that anyone can make any name for.

Also - another giveaway. It's gone! No longer up on the Nexus. Sounds like Nexus admins shut that shit down to me.

Again, let's not get peoples' hopes up here.

Care to explain in detail?

It's the first time i've seen mounting mod bundles via Mods folder and most certainly this is first time i've seen new custom bundles, i mean they do not contain anything besides what they modify, which seems unlikely for either QuickBMS or bundle explorer as they can only modify/expand existing bundle but not create one or remove from it.
This pack seems to utilize the "mods folder" method very well, as each mod is very small in size, contains metadata file containing a list of all files that given mod changes, blob0 and other content bundles.
So far it''s light years ahead any other community tool i've seen, whoever has it be it CDPR or other individual, they are far ahead.

It was uploaded by a staff member, not just by anyone. Maybe it was too early though.

That's not entirely true, there's still one step missing in the process: converting your edited texture back into the w2ent file format that TW3 uses. Unless you made it work, in which case I'm gonna need screenshots and explanations :)

The Witcher 3 uses xbm as a texture format.
