Since RED has announced an arena change, please pay attention to this suggestion. The best draft system (arena) I've seen was implemented in the game Might & Magic: Duel of Champions. You can find youtube videos: “Draft champions duel”, “Draft mmdock”. Also there was a large Polish MMDOC community and videos in Polish were preserved.
First you choose a leader from 12 random ones.
Then select cards from the leader’s factions! 4 cards are opened for selection and the next 8 cards also become visible. Thus, it is possible to plan synergies of cards and the archetype as a whole!
In some games, extra cards can be discarded after a draft for for better deck quality.
As a result, the draft decks comes out very consistent. This approach drastically reduces RNG when collecting draft decks.
MMDOC also had an excellent system of Swiss mini-tournaments (mmdoc swiss):
You take the constructed deck. Then among 8 players a Swiss tournament is played. 3 duel for each player.
The time to move is shortened.
