Aretuza or the Lodge?

+
If the devs were going to make a magic faction, which would you prefer. Aretuza has more history and more magical alumni, yet the lodge is more politically important, plays a bigger role in the Witcher 3, and in the interest of avoiding spoilers, the lodge is better situated at the end of the canon. Thoughts?

Doing either would be a nightmare, mostly because all of its "contenders" are already spread out through the other factions, it would require massive changes to the existing cardpool. Maybe make them dual faction, but it would still bring issues regarding faction identity. And this applies to pretty much any suggested faction, if its based on something already in-game, it's harder to implement, it would just be easier to make a totally new faction.

But i still would really love a card for Tissaia de Vries, one of my favorite sorcereresses and the only one i can think of that still doesnt have a card.

I see your point but have opposite reaction. I would make most of the neutral ones faction specific and share the existing faction cards with the new faction much the same way some cards are shared with SY. The infrastructure is already in place which makes it much easier than building from the ground up.

You can also replace any cards you take away from another faction. For example Ban ard tutors could move from NR to Magic and then you add another card with a northern allegiance to replace it. As for canon, it makes perfect sense that mages could serve two factions as they often did throughout the series.

Rather than faction, i would like to see mage archetype gets stronger by additional special/unit cards which has aretuza and lodge theme. As i mentioned before creating a new faction with already existing cards will cause problems. I hope in new patch they will focus reviving dead archetypes.

What do you mean "not represented"? We have an Adept and Margarita.
I mean that these 2 cards against many other Lodge sorceresses, some of which like Triss and Yen also have 2-3 cards each, is hardly comparable.
And also because without Tissaia there can be no Aretuza faction.

As a side note, the actress who played Tissaia in Witcher Neftlix was IMO the best character there. I hope that her card is made after her liking.

You could pick leaders pretty easily based on books and games. Each notable character could get a unique lodge card. Triss lodge does X. Or you could do the same with Aretuza and show them before they change their appearance. Overlap with Ban Arad if you want. This is the perfect Gwent faction because they interact with every aspect of the Witcher universe and have a distinct agenda.
