Speaking of armor where is Geralt's sword strap?

You can see it in the following concept art.

And you always had in in Witcher 2

Aside from this armor below where there is a thin strap are his swords just magically attached to his back?

they all pretty much look like that with slight variations. your geralt looks like a psychotic kevin costner 10 years in the future.

The truth is that it was based on Michał Żebrowski

Not really that stoked about most of the armors so far. Overall the ones in 2 seemed to have more detail and just looked more appealing.
I really hope that there's a lot more that we haven't seen, because so far it seems like they decided not to use the most interesting ones from the concept art. And as others have pointed out, it's just a bit annoying how it seems like they didn't care enough with such details like using he bandoleer from tw2 which was a very neat detail instead of having swords hot glued to your back.

A lot of the armour we've seen in the Gameplay Demos feature like a "half-strap" to keep his swords in check.

For awhile I thought they were magically floating as well, but he does actually have a strap. The middle version of Geralt in the below image probably shows it off the best, from a front angle it looks like the armour doesn't have a strap, so it kind of tricks you into thinking he doesn't have it (Especially when in TW2, and probably even 1, he had full straps on I believe literally every piece of armour). If you look carefully from the back you can see where the strap starts on the shoulder, wraps around and ends somewhere around his waist, it never ever ends up going around to his front and actually ends still a reasonable distance from his right side.

I like what little armor we were shown so far. Sure, TW2's outfits had more details to them, but I sometimes felt that they were a bit too much, too elaborate - in general, and for a witcher in particular. Geralt looked downright fabulous in some of them, with all their embroidery and colors.

I'm not a lore fanatic, but in this case it feels better to me that Geralt has mostly simple leather outfits with bland colors. CDPR still found a way to stylize them nicely while keeping them simple.

This is assuming that the countless other outfits we weren't shown yet follow the same simple path of what we were already shown, compared to TW2.

I see, thanks a bunch for clearing that up!

I do hope the thicker full strap is still somewhere in the game though.

Loving the debates on this. I've noticed some saying the heavier looking armors would impede Geralts movements. I personally do actual armored combat. My full set includes a knee length, thickly padded gambeson. A lamellar cuirass, made with 14 gauge lames ( with pauldrons and thigh protection) As well as full gauntlets, armored boots, and helm. My whole kit weighs under 70lbs. I am not in outstanding shape, by any means. I can still fight hard for the better part of a day. In my opinion, the most any of these would weigh is 40 lbs. Geralt would be able to do his dance of death, without a problem.

I hope so too, I also hope there'll be some overly-detailed, bordering on superfluous, sets like many in TW2 were. Bear armour has that full strap, and the max level of it appears to be crazy detailed like TW2 sets were (Even level 2 already seems to reach about on-par). So there should be enough variety and hopefully enough styles from the plain to over-the-top and everyone will be satisfied.

Found on 4Chan.

I'm gonna echo @Garrison72 [forever Slimgrin in my mind] and say that I'm not a fan of armour designs that were shown so far. Here's hoping we can get some TW2-like designs as well.

I want to see a "classic" Geralt armor. Which means no armor at all. Just a simple black dress. And no skirt.

Edit: Wait, Slimgrin is now Garrison72? WTF? Why the change?

And could please anybody delete that stupid ".452" in my name?! Was there before the connection of the forums to GOG...

I don't blame you, not at all. 4chan is the darkest side of the internet, I shouldn't be that surprised. :p

Oh, you could've found that, too. It's from January.

Do not enlighten me, I don't want to know.
As for the Bear Armour, I think the old colours from the artwork were much better and more fitting. The new ones are strange, unnecessary change.

I haven't found at least one really good looking and fitting armor/clothing for Geralt yet in all those videos, artworks and screenshots...
