I just hope they implement Dark Souls' approach to improving the armour. Thus making it viable for the entire playthrough. I'm kinda sick of an armour set becoming obsolete in 5 minutes and then switching to an ugly set. It's a false dichotomy. All RPGs should implement an upgrade system. That way people can look however they want AND have the appropriate stats.

FromSoft showed the way. I'm hoping other developers takes notes and follows suit.

Not sure how it works in DS, but maybe we could upgrade components on a base suit of armor to make it viable for the whole game.

Maybe point in that you can upgrade them, together with issue of different components and changeable appearance. That make numbers larger . For me - let just that armors be so beautifful like Wolf armor.and without returning to armors from the Witcher 2. When i saw Esakel in that red spiked armor thats kinda creeped me out. They should at leat dye that in brown.or better black colors. That colors just dont suit for such kind of the job.

What worries me its that when you use another components like dragon skin its not just numpers and stats. Let the look of weapon and armor change too. Like from ordinary leather sword handle and armor to basilisk/dragon skin. If all this crafting and ingridients system turns to be just stats and numbers this will be the biggest dissapointment with all that textile/fur technology told.

I read (I think at Eurogamer) that weapons (I don't remember if armors too) will actually change their look when you upgrade them, so yeah, you can expect that feature.

Helmets please - I realize that it's massively anti lore - but considering all the witchers have major facial scars you'd have thought by now they'd have realized it's a good idea.

God I love this post :p True mate, too true. I guess a helmet would simply cost too much for a poor Witcher but yeah. You'd think that they'd invest in some head protection. After all, it's hard to make money if you're dead.

It's uncomfortable for someone who has an agility-based combat wih that helmet shaking
Also it can interfere in his capability of seeing the surrounding

Tottally agree, characters wearing the same clothes through the whole story has always been an immersion breaker for me

I only need one. A black leather jacket and black gloves with silver spikes on the cuffs.

And Geralt needs at least one hairstyle with a hairband.

I hope I am not the only one who thinks Eskel's armor in the SoD trailer looked badass.
It also appeared to be a witcher 2 concept armor that didn't make it in the final game.

That's the outfit my Geralt should be able to wear.

That's probably Geralt's original witcher outfit. In the books Geralt never wears "armor". Armor doesn't fit his fighting style. He usually only wears a black leather jacket, black trousers, black gloves with silver spikes on the back, black boots and a black cloak. ;)

Exactly, my mistake. I should have said leather jacket because that is indeed Geralt's style (or any other witcher's) but I am so used to say armor because that's what almost all torso pieces in the witcher 2 are called.
