I loved th Oathbreaker, but I hated the visual effects, it was a shame, I loved hunter´s and Dragon Scale armor. :D

Yep, I had to install a mod to get rid of that visual effect... Hunter's and Dragon Scale armors were pretty cool indeed, but I liked Raven's Armor more... you know, all black xD

You're completely correct. Wearing armor instead of just a leather jacket should come with a cost at least.

By the way, the only mod I installed for TW2 was the one which disabled the dark mode visual effects. I hated them as well. ;)

Maybe in TW3 the weight of the armor, or some perks make some kind of effect on Geralt stats, like spacehamsterzh mentioned, less mobility, regeneration and such, but I think that´s unlikely, I don´t use mods because I played the game the first few times on 360, time later I bought the gog edition and replayed the game, but I don´t like to use mods, I don´t know why, really, maybe some kind of trauma with bugged mods before... :)

Actually if the armors and swords from Witcher 2 will back , they should be weaker and much more common than new ones. New gear will be made with better quality smiths, much better and rare components and with all that -much much better than all old gear. And after all its completely witcher gear -not the one you can buy in any store like in previous games. This is handmade master quality sets.

EcoSeis .it will. It was told before that depending of your gear you`be more protected or agile, can swim or be drowned like the axe and other things. So you need to decide wisely.

Lord Crash, i dont remember any of this about training in books . And the thing about armor comes after that series Wiedzmin, that for my opinion ruined all the sense from the book, so i really disliked that thing.

Yeah ! the witcher 3 is going to be an Amazing game, but we need a few small option like these. A game inorder to satisfy many gamers, has to take little things like these into consideration and have them as features :D

Dragonbird's dark mode mod is a very small and simple thing and has never given me any trouble, though. I played through the game in dark mode many times, and pretty much always with the mod because the visual/sound effect annoyed the crap out of me.

Anyway, I hope the devs are aware a lot of people hated the dark mode effects, and there won't be any gear with obnoxious visual and sound effects in TW3. I really hate this sort of thing. There's a shield in Dark Souls 2 that makes a bell noise every time you block an attack, and I won't use it just because that's so annoying. It actually has the perfect stats for one of my builds, but I can't deal with it.

While we're at it, I've said it before, but I really hope the three dark sets are available in TW3 somehow if you transfer a save where you had them. I really, really, really like the Blasphemer set.

I should try it then, and that way maybe I can play with the Oathbreaker set, I like that one, and I will do also like to see what you wear imported to the TW3, but only what you have equiped, one set of armor and two swords, not 100 items from the inventory. :D

In one of the previows interview CDPR told they not gotta import items from TW2(i support them in that idea). All that will be imported its your decisions.

Perhaps you're on to something here. It would be very immersion breaking if Geralt wears mail armor.

For example in Wiedzmin was the scene with Renfri. After that scene turns that its Geralt itself to blame Renfri turns evil. Or the scene of Geralt education with druids(what) and another just bullshit scenes. All of that just ruined the books plot.

Same was the scene with the plate armor -it wasn`t in the book . Its just scenarists idea. Off course Geralt would`nt wear heavy plate armor, but he perfectly can wear chainmail, armor elements or padded/brigandine like armors. Medieval warriors used them and was absolutely agile.

Which sence with plate armor??? Geralt actually never wore any kind of armor in the books IIRC. We can only speculate why he does not tbh.

I know that you can fight quite well in full plate armor. That's not the problem here. It's also not a purely medieval setting but a fantasy setting. And even in a purely medieval settings someone could decide to fight without full armor. It could for example be based on some sort of codex or someone likely just couldn't afford good armor. The Geralt we know lives from hand to mouth most of the times, finding only little work and even less work he likes to do. It's hard to imagine that someone like Geralt - an outsider mutant - should have enough money to be able to buy a custom tailored suit of armor (from a purely medieval/realistic view)... ;)

Obviously because of cost of buy and future care, combat agility and because its completely not suit for his kind of job(only if elements -like vamrace.greaves and other). The cloth/arming cloth like Wolf armor and the ones Jan Marek drew suits much better for him. And off course the ones that CDPR working on now.

On TW2, I always swapped out armour textures if I wanted the stats for one and the appearance of another.
It's easy, doesn't need any modding skills more sophisticated than the ability to use Notepad, doesn't use REDkit, and only takes five minutes.

On the assumption that it won't be any harder in TW3, I'll be doing it again. And I'll post the instructions again, together with the files you need, if I have to. :)
(The TW2 ones are here)

I definitely prefer my armour leather and hoodless.

But this is a RPG, a videogame, not a book.
Different armors, different swords ecc... is necessary in an RPG.
