I certainly prefer the more traditional instruments as its in keeping with the time period, but they had hard rock/ death metal in TW1 and it's likely to appear in TW2 as well.Exuro89 said:I have a question pertaining to music. In this video we hear a lot of new music in the game.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEUazuUBZ4Y&feature=player_embeddedThe combat music, however, is a little out of place(although I do enjoy how adrenaline pumping it sounds) with the electric guitars compared to the other more traditional instrumentals. Is this what will be in the game or is it just a rendition with electric guitars that'll be on an OST? Thanks.Edit: I guess I'm asking if there will be a more traditional instrumental of the combat music heard in the video without electric guitars, or if the combat music in the final game will be different from this.
I remember that Sword of the Witcher music video that was all heavy metal but I don't remember any hardcore metal being in the actual game. I don't mind this combat music(The actual melody is awesome) so much but I think it would fit in better with traditional instruments, like war drums or something. I'm listening to the music right now and I really enjoy the acoustic guitar musics and such. The electric guitar just doesn't flow as well with the other music. If that was changed to a different instrument while retaining all of the hoo hahs, drumming and that awesome violin/stringed instrument theme this would be perfect.slimgrin said:I certainly prefer the more traditional instruments as its in keeping with the time period, but they had hard rock/ death metal in TW1 and it's likely to appear in TW2 as well.![]()
Indeed. Wise advice. I'd suggest the same thing, but I really doubt anyone will give a damn about it. =/The Witcher 1 had better and more believable looking dodges, specific to each sword style. There were, short bounds, spins, and jumps, in addition to rolling. Those should be brought back, or the animators should at least be allowed to experiment with them and reconsider.
sorry to break this to ya, lad, but the combat system is what it is. rolling can be easily abused and that's it. the decs wont come here to reassure you unless they have good news. if they dont than they wont talk about the subject and ignore it completely. this is why this issue will not be answered. wake up. the combat is what it looks like. it's no B:AA and not AC, but it HAS it's advantages over these two games, i believe. maybe, unlike AC, u can actually die in the game. and maybe, unlike B::AA , enemies have more than just one type of behavior. maybe.wu05 said:Yes, what Complisted said. I would also like to know if the final build will allow backing up during combat. When walking backwards, Geralt actually turns 180 degrees, instead of maintaining forward facing like in The Witcher 1 and many other over the shoulder camera games. This is good in fine when out of combat, but looks strange in a fight...I don't think a professional warrior would turn his back to an enemy so often. Also, I noticed that the running animation during combat was changed. In past videos, Geralt would hold his sword in both hands, in fighting stance and ready to fight while running during combat. It looks fantastic when he charges towards the enemy, ready to swing. Now he drops his stance and holds it in one hand while running, as if casually jogging towards his enemy. He only brings up his stance when he stops moving. I may be nitpicking, but as an animation student, I think it makes the fights look much worse. As said before, I think the constant roll-dodging looks very silly. The Witcher 1 had better and more believable looking dodges, specific to each sword style. There were, short bounds, spins, and jumps, in addition to rolling. Those should be brought back, or the animators should at least be allowed to experiment with them and reconsider. An answer would put mine and I'm sure many others concerns to rest!
good questions. i asked them myself in another thread. besides the guy with the shield it kinda looks like the AI dont block, which is horrible, IMO.also by all the videos it looks like it's more efficient to roll than to walk. also kinda bad, IMO. i hope MM360 will answer these, but he's been absent from this thread for a very long time now.... probably being held captive and gagged by the PR guys....ferryman10 said:I have some questions about combat.Do the enemies block your strikes? When blocking strike from a guy with two-handed sword does it nullify the damage or it crushes through block and does some reduced dmg?Has the rolling any cooldown or you can roll all the time? Also does the roll nullifies incoming damage?Thank you for your answers.
And Zoltan's. I loved, loved, loved the Zoltan from TW1, and the voice actor was a big part of that. Will he return?Christian11 said:I'd like to ask about Triss' voice. Will it be the same as it was in the first game or like it was in the video, where she and Zoltan speak about how Geralt got out of jail?
Why so serious?Orochi82 said:I'm tired of people complaining about people who complains about rolling. /jkHonestly, if you can't handle complaints you should lock yourself in a basement and wear a straitjacket.I'm just tired off all that people complaining about rolling.
Argh... Get that pop metal out of The Witcher pliz. That music sucked, completely out of place. If that's the battle music I'll set music volume to 0 and it will affect all the experience. Thanks for screwing TW1 true fans. Any other radical changes that we should know of before we hang ourselves ??Unlike some people around here, I loved the combat music.
