I know my laptop ain't the best, but I'm currently doing a rent-to-own on this, and I would like to find out if there is any way to reduce the unbearable amount of lag I'm having with my newly purchased, and patched version of The Witcher- Enhanced Edition.
get the settings on 800x600 LOW, and get them up slowly while testing the game, until it starts laggingyou should be aware that the Prologue, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are lighter on the resources, starting with Chapter 3 things get heavy!

I just installed The Witcher onto my new computer. Specs are as follows:DirectX: 9.0cOS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bitCPU name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHzCPU speed: 2793MHzMemory: 4096MBScreen size: 1920x1080 (32bits)Video card: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family, 256MB

Hello Witcher Help Team, here my pc data:Fujitsu Siemens FSC AMILO LA3740 AMD Phenom X4 9650AMD Phenom X4 9650 4x2,30GHz / 4096MB RAM / 640GB HDD / Nvidia GeForce 9500GS 512MB /Windows Vista Home PremiumI'm momentarly playing Witcher, it's actually running ok, but especially inbig activity areas (like the main city places) its hooking a bit when Gerarld is running. It's bothering me!I want to update my graphic card because my suspicions lie that the graphic card is stopping my system a bit. What do you think about the nVidia GeForce GTX 260? Will it help me, I want to play witcher in the maximum modus (high details) without hooking. It's already looking good, no graphic faults of any kind but there is this hooking in some areas.Any other graphic card suggestions are welcome, but I don't want to pay more than 140 Euro and I'm getting the GTX 260 which had very good results in tests at amazon for 135 Euro. Thanks in advance for your help,Kathi

is there a difference in me using a card for pci express and pci express 2.0?also does it matter that my system is 64 bit? Are there video cards different for 32 bit and 64 systems?[mod]use the MODIFY button[/mod]

nope / there are video drivers for both 32 and 64bit/ the video cards are OS agnostic anyway

http://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/docs/ds-amilo-d-la-3740-de.pdfThis is my PC and setup, don't have any other devices.I guess the PSU is 400 watt then. But the maximum consumption of this graphic card is 182 watt (information: Chiptakt: 575MHz, Speichertakt: 999MHz, Shadertakt: 1242MHz Chip: GT200 (D10U-20) Speicherinterface: 448-bit Stream-Prozessoren: 192 Textureinheiten: 64 Fertigung: 65nm Maximaler Verbrauch: 182W DirectX: 10.0 Shader Modell: 4.0 Besonderheiten: unterstützt HDCP, 3-Way-SLI )

182 watts just the video card, add processor at full speed, add hard drives, add memory: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp -> how much does it add up to? my recommendation: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=corsair%20550w( 550W is not overkill: http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-260-review/4 )

IN your opinion, how does this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102829 stack up against the ones that you suggested? My card MUST be low profile, by the way. How do you think this card would do in my computer, and how well could it run The Witcher? Could I use this to run it on high and get no hooking?
low profile, i see your problem :(so maybe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187061&Tpk=9800gt%20Low%20Profile or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187060

I was kind of hoping to go a little cheaper because my purse got a little lighter (weird how utility bills will do that) Is the cars I suggested in my previous post worth buying? Will it meet the criteria to push The Witcher on close to high settings?
