So glad they're going that route! EA is the devil - CDP is better off finding someone who will work with them, not micromanage them. They do not want a big publisher like EA, but someone they cooperate with as partners.
WORD! Kudos on that point of view of the games industrypudi0072000 said:Thanks for that!So glad they're going that route! Hmm, EA seemed to work well with Dragon Age. The OLD EA was the devil.. nowdays they seem a lot better. Activision is the devil now.Working with someone like EA would give them massive advertising campaigns and more money.. well, advertising makes money but they'd give them money in the production phase and the advertising would ensure they sell a lot of copies.."According to CD Projekt, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is to be a "breakthrough RPG like Fallout 3" that should get over 90% score at Metacritic"Hmm... like Fallout 3? Sure, it scored over 90 in official reviews but the users weren't as satisfied.. 7.8 for PC and 8.3 for XBOX. They could have chosen a better example TBH, not that it matters much."The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf, the console port of the first game, is not canceled but suspended, and will likely be made after all. This time with the use of CD Projekt's own technology, not an engine outsourced from a third party. However, it might not happen until after the second game is finished."Weird. So the consoles might get TW2 AND the Rise of the White Wolf... I just hope they don't divide resources between the two projects.pudi0072000 said:Thanks for that!So glad they're going that route! How official are these news? Because thisAusir said:Here's some new information:http://polygamia.pl/Polygamia/1,101109,7264926,CDP__Wiedzmin_2_przelomowym_RPGiem__nowy_silnik_w.html#English

Well, maybe the plan is to release TW2 for pc only, and thereafter start with console versions of TW (RotWW) and only after that will TW2 be ported. This may take some time, but I'm sure they're careful with their words so to leave gaps open.PetraSilie said:How official are these news? Why Activision is evil? They produced Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines and was not so bad (indeed I love it).I'm not so glad to hear they want to do a Fallout3- RPG-like. I didn't like the game at all.So they said that probably will be released in Q1 2010.... are we sure? so early? :hmmm:Dezired said:Hmm, EA seemed to work well with Dragon Age. Yes!Thanks for the information, Ausir! With everything they do, CDPR makes it clear that they understand games. Maybe not marketing and stuff, but games.pudi0072000 said:Thanks for that!So glad they're going that route! Oh wow, thank you so much for the info Szypek! Too bad I don't understand Polish.szypek26 said:Kiciński for polish tv - TVN CNBC Biznes (today in the morning): announcement of W2 in the 2nd half of March 2010, PC premiere possible by the end of this year.If you know polish:http://www.onet.tv/cd-projekt-w-2010,6066987,11,klip.html#m=6066987,c=11Info - ShinAd - from forum gram.plhttp://forum.gram.pl/forum_post.asp?tid=55115&u=15#endThanks!
Well, I am Polish and to be honest I don't understand a bigger part of this interview, because it focuses mainly on market stuff, as it is business tv. Stil, the most important things that Kiciński says about W2 are:- a big conferency is gonna take place in the 2nd half of March, on which they (CDP) are going to officialy announce W2 for PC- further in 2010 (2nd half of the year) they are going to announce W2 for next-gen-consoles- during this announcement they want to tell us about publisher [My comemntary: in Poland it's definitely gonna be CD Projekt, but in the rest of world...?]- they want to tell us a lot of details about W2 [Me: what a surprise]- those details are going to be "very interesting"- Kiciński: "premiere of W2 is not so far"- when the host asked about details, Kiciński strongly suggested that they'd like to bring W2 to stores before Christmas- during this conference CDP is gonna say more about premiere date- another polish studio, Metropolis, which was bought by CDP about dwo (?) years ago is now working with RED to "finish" W2. [Me: That must be why all projects of Metropolis are being held right now. I guess that M. was working on They, which is frozen now]- level of complication of W2 production is very high and that's why they (REDs) do one project at the time- W2 is not coming for Mac- PC first, consoles nextHe also says something about gog.com and polish gaming companies, but I think it's unimportant right nowIllusiveSpatula said:Oh wow, thank you so much for the info Szypek!
