Same for me ! Nothing helps except turning off my headset and back on again.
So its ok for additional 10minutes. Very sad about that bad overall quality of the game (crackling, other bugs, bad graphics,...)

Crackling is gone (Hopefully)

I am having a similar issue on PC. The crackling happens sporadically as in it will happen for a while and then stop resuming normal audio. The crackling sound actually changes the tempo of the music/dialogue when it happens on my end. it can be assumed that it's not just an output issue but actually a sound driver/processing compatibility issue that is only apparent with CP77. I have not experienced this with any other game. I tested this by running the game simultaneously with a youtube vid and it didn't occur on the external source.

My sound set up is a a sennheiser gsp 670 headset and the accompanying EPOS gaming suite

Hi there,

I have the GSP 670 too and the crackling is gone (hopefully).
I only have sometime a short crackling and then the sound is ok again.

I did the following:

Go to the taskmanager under Details
Look for audiodg.exe
Setting Priority to HIGH and setting it to CORE0 (removing all other Cores)

Go to the sound system control
Moving to the speakers and Advanced settings
removing the checkboxes for exclusive mode and signal improvements:

Please let me know if it helps someone too or not!
Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

Helps abit, but not removing the problem!

SOLUTION: Reduce Audio Playback device to 44.1Khz in Sound Control Panel

When I played the first hour I was having constant audio glitches that were not part of the game. These sounded to me like when a computer is having audio buffer under runs. This solution worked in another one-off tile I can't recall but reducing the sample rate of my sound card fixed the issue. I also bumped the buffersize from 256 to 512 for good measure. The above tweaks fixed the glitching for me but it's annoying having to toggle back to 48Khz to run my daily workloads (audio production). I'm running a Intel i7 8700k w/ RTX 3080 and 32GB of Ram and installation on a NVMe drive so I doubt it's my system.

**EDIT:** Just finished multi-hour long session. I occassionally hear the glitch/pop but dropping the sample rate still got rid of 95% of it. At this point I assume it's some optimization needed with CP2077's audio playback.

I mate. I've the following issue with sound, I think it's the same you had:
there is a continuous buzzing, as audio buffer you say but I don't speak that well english and it's like when you touc the jack with bare hands. is it that?
the matter here is that I don't have sound card and I can't find on internet anything that helps me changing buffer size.
it only appears in game when I enter the inventory or else "off-game" zones.
thx for yout ime if you have some
cheers

Same problem here. I also noticed that my game sound is not loud enough, even in max settings.
I am struggling to hear some dialogue.
This only happens in CP 2077.

Having similar issues, have a Corsair wired headset plugged in via USB and after a while of playing I will get audio "pops" / "crackling" starts up. These happen every few seconds at varying volumes. Interestingly if I unplug the headset and plug it back in it clears up for a short while before coming back.

Have looked at the fixes suggested but Spatial sound is turned off and my options only go up to 48000 Hz, going to try turning off Exclusive Mode but I feel this is more an issue with CP2077 itself as not experiencing it in other games / apps.

I was trying CP77 in my old PC before sleep yesterday. It's a bit under specs even for a low 1080p setting (AMD 7850K +RX460 and 8GB of RAM at 1866MHz), but i try anyway in 720p with 30FPS cap and everything setted to minimum... Still a pretty impressive work BTW, but i was getting these strange sound glitches.

Played the intro part until get into Night City. Frames was pretty stable at my 30 cap and, despite high HW usage, it would be running smoothly at this settings if not by this sound thing.

Since it was just a lab test (i'm waiting for the delivery of my Xbox version to play in my SeX, which should happen at any minute now), i lightened the burden a bit lowering resolutions to even lesser values - believe me, play CP77 at 640x480 should be pure fun for more "retro" users, only miss a CRT monitor to do it properly (lol).

This have left more space to my rig breathes, but audio still was popping every second. Hope that the team could find what should be causing it and solve this inconvenience soon. It is really a great game to be so much haunted by these minor issues.

I also had issues with sound crackling, as if someone were moving my audio jack around while I was playing. I changed my speaker properties in Windows from 32 bit, 48000 Hz to 24 bit, 48000 Hz, and so far that seems to have fixed the issue. Am I going to have appreciably worse quality audio on the other things that I do though? So far it seems fine... Hopefully CDPR patches this issue in the future so that I can go back to the settings I had before.

Your audio card sampling rate should be set to whatever sampling rate the game's audio files natively are -- in pretty much every case for every game ever made, that's going to be 16-bit 44.1k.

I had the similar issue, I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface and for music production I got my rate at 48000hz, and like in Red Dead Redemption 2 I got horrible crackling sound issues here in Cyberpunk 2077. So I need to open the Focusrite Mixing options and put it lower, at 44100hz and the crackling is gone !
Everytime I'm back on my DAW for music production it goes back to 48000hz, so I always have to put it at 44100hz before launching the game.

Try upping your buffer size too, at least this helped me
As far as I understand, sometimes your computer has difficulties keeping up with the small buffer sizes
I had 128, which glichted and 256 was fine, try setting it maybe even to 512

Same problem happens with my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 V3. I solved it by upping it to 96.000hz but a Discord problem hunts me down on that. My mic only sounds without crackling on Discord at 48.000hz/128 buffer size. So I have to switch back and forth when I want to play Cyberpunk, can't stay at 96.000 or 192.000 which I would love to :(.

EDIT: Just tried to disable exclusive mode in windows audio settings, and it's working on 48.000hz, interesting, try to do it!
EDIT 2: nah, worked for a bit, then started crackling again

Hi CDPR,

I have two issues:

1. I have wireless headset sennheiser gsp 670. When I play Cyberpunk I have sound delays and "electrostatic noises".
When I change sound device to my speakers, everything is Okay
The issues with earphones only in this game. When I play other games and listening to music on my PC I don`t have this issues.
Tried to update drivers and connect with USB cable, did not helped
I tried other in game settings, didn't helped
Yesterday after game launch, the sound was good, the sound issues started today. My PC don't updated during this time

2. Language settings not saving after game exit. On each game launch I need to set it again
My settings: Voice: English; HUD and captions: Russian
On each launch the settings is revert to English on everything

Thanks
