Auto-Patcher? [Resolved]

Hello All,

I was under the impression that there is an auto-patcher built in to the TW2 launcher based on past posts here and the fact it says "The game will automatically update to version x.x via the game launcher." on the patch page.

I recently downloaded TW2 EE via GOG.com - the installer version being "3.0.1.17" which contains the Enhanced Edition patch.

When searching for details on something else TW2 related earlier today I found today that the 3.1 patch had been released last month - yet the launcher has never notified me of any new patches being available.

From what I can tell, the launcher is connected to the internet just fine (as it says "Online" and shows a lightning bolt in the top left hand corner) - is there anything special that has to be done to ensure that the launcher checks for updates?

I've updated manually this time anyway, but it would be nice to know for future reference.

Update 21/06/2012:

I launched the game today and was notified the 3.2 patch could be downloaded. I still do not know why I was not notified about the 3.1 update, however the auto-patcher now appears to be working correctly.

do you have any issues with the game? you are not missing much:

Version 3.1 Corrections/Amendments (18th May 2012)
*Fixed the display of inter-chapter movies in aspect ratios other than 16:9.
*Fixed bugs causing the application to close while opening the credits.
*Relevant Aspect Ratio options are shown in the Configurator.exe if nVidia Surround is supported.
*Game saves from Act 2 created on older versions of the game are now compatible with the Enhanced Edition, which fixes the dwarven mechanism in Vergen.
*Added a fix for .NET Framework 4-related issues for the Steam users.

do you have any issues with the game?

Nothing in particular, I've had a few issues but they disappeared when I started a new game.

I'm just more curious as to why the auto-patcher didn't do it's thing rather than anything else, as if patches are released in the future I'd rather know about them when they're released rather than a month or so later.

It seems I'm not the only one with the issue, having looked various people mentioned they have had the same issue in this topic on the GOG.com forums too, but there are no replies as to why it may be happening there either.

As to why the auto patcher/launcher isn`t working as intended . I don`t know yet but mine doesn`t work either . So at least we`re in the same boat on that one . The only thing i can recommend is to check the support page for any patches later than 3.1 from time to time .
