Average lifespan of the Aen Seidhe

Hello guys, anyone in here know just how long the Elven lifespan is?
I have read the books twice (fan-translations) and played the games many times, but I can´t seem to recall any other figure than " very long-lived", "humans expire like flies" and such :/ My personal guess is around 600 years, give or take, but I don´t have any proof... Can any lore-expert tell me if I have missed something? :)

Auberon, King of the Aen Elle was 650 years old I think (it was definitely above 600), and didn't show any signs of old age whatsoever..

So I'm guessing its alot over 600 :)

That is if the Aen Elle and the Aen Seidhe are not that different regarding that matter..

I don´t think they are, but in his case there might also be magic involved... Talking about averages here, on the continent most don´t seem to make it to such an impressive age x) They join the Scoiatel, pogroms, human disease...

Then I'm guessing it can't be much longer than the average human lifespan, since the majority of the Scoia'tael is consisted of young elves and they almost always die fighting..The elder elves of the continent have moved to Dol Blathana or even to the mountains in the east..

Yeah, the practical lifespan "today" is around 80 or something, but the natural lifespan, meaning no warfare, no magic... Like before the Conjunction, is as far as I know yet to be revealed :)

*puts a ghetto blaster on the floor and sunglasses on*

Ahem.... yo, yo... check dis out... ?

Witcher....

You're about to find nothing but more death,
welcome to the lyrical forest of Iorveth.

Gwynnbleidd, it's too late to win mate
trapped between tress like an inmate,

you'll be clinging to your twin blades
facing the one that your kin hates.

I'm laying here in wait, while you come to me,
pierce you with arrows,'til you look like Duny

You're helpless, stumbled into my trap,
about to get pummeled by non-human rap,

the prey I set my sights on, say farewell
I'm always on a Wild Hunt, Scoia'tel

You may be a Witcher with mutant powers,
but this is the forest of Iorveth,
not the valley of flowers~

*takes off the sunglasses*

...uhm... I.... let's say 600 - 1000 years ?

I'm pretty sure the Aen Seidhe or Aen Elle don't know it themselves.
None of them will have survived a millenium without their life being claimed by war or disease.

Is that... a rap song? o_O Hmm, we ought to ask Andrzej Sapkowski himself at this rate xD

Sorry for that, it happens from time to time. xD

But as far as we know age has never been an issue for the Aen Seidhe or Aen Elle, only reproduction.

In the books it's mentioned that the Aen Seidhe lost their supremacy over the world because "humans multiplied like rats",
while the elves took a long time to produce offspring, if any.

It's sure that Aen Seidhe lifespan is very, very long. Also, Aen Elle could live longer because time flows differently in their world, so if Auberon was like...600 years old, he was much older in Witcher world.

I remember Cedric was pretty old for an elf, old enough for it to be mentioned anyway. But there was no mention of exactly how old was there?

I found this:

"The average Elven lifespan is stated as around 300 years in the first novel"

Auberon was pretty old by that standard, which explains why he had trouble to *ahem* procreate.

I've found that line, finally.

‘He has seen the smoke from the fires of more than six hundred and fifty Saovines. Believe me, that’s a lot even for the People of the Alders.’

That´s... interesting, it makes them seem a lot more plausible (relatively, considering it´s fantasy) from a biological point of view, as opposed to a thousand years :)
