Axii in conversations

Hi
Does upgrading of the Axii sign have any effect on its success in conversations?
I'd really love to play more by convincing/persuading (eventually intimidating) but I haven't found a way to improve its success.

Can you help me out here, please?

Use it. It improves with usage. This makes it easier to use with harder targets later in the game.

While sometimes Axii is the best choice, often intimidation can accomplish the same, and the only real difference is in "tone" for roleplaying purposes. If all else fails there always remains hitting people with swords or paying them money. Don't recall it ever really mattering to the extent that it broke a quest.

Using Axii to get a better price for the Kayran contract is much preferable to other methods, since it gives you the Haggling ability (20% discount for all merchants in the game).

To the origial question, no, upgrading the Axii sign does not improve your success in conversation. What does is what @Lieste said, repeatedly attempting and being successful with it.

I believe, after four successful hexes in conversations, you should have the Conjuror ability (+3 sign damage) and Level 3 Axii Sign Hex (some increase to chance of success).

I do not understand this part properly. ^^ The Conjuror ability is something I only obtain through four successful (Axii() hexes in conversations, am I right with this?

That's my understanding. Though I'm not sure the game is consistent about it. Some Axii hex interactions (like the Priest in the Prologue) appear to succeed when they're reported to fail. But you do get Conjuror after you get Axii Sign Hex 3.
