He's carrying one too many weapons to carry a backpack and he needs to be light on his foot. Maybe a few pouches with armor upgrades couldn't hurt tho.

eh, this is one area where I'm willing to suspend disbelief in service to a more attractive character model. Geralt shouldn't look like a US infantryman in full uniform, all laden down with sagging, ugly pouches and bags, and if it's realism you're after, nothing less than a covered wagon would suffice to store all the items in your inventory at any given time. I'd say a few side pouches to accommodate the bombs and potions, and all the extra weapons and armors I'm carrying can be chalked up to the RPG meta-game.

I cant remember where but I'm sure it was said that you can increase your horse's storage, so saddlebags would make perfect sense.
I bet The saddle will increase stamina regen and the horse blinders will make them braver.

I think its not just saddlebag. As you can see on inventory Ui, there also blinders and saddles with trophys.
