For once I didn't go guns blazing, and talked him down. As I went downstairs, I heard a shot. I went back up, and he'd committed himself. Regardless of what I do, the outcome is the same, he dies??? Why?? 
It gives less agency to the player, if the outcome is the same regardless of action. Not cool, CDPR, not cool.
And to top it off, I forgot to start recording for uploading this mission on Youtube. Double sad (overwrote the save).
