Barricade - aiming ballista bug

Hi.

A year ago, I installed the FCR mod, but I soon grew tired of it, so I first de-activated it (which corrupted my whole game aka skill tree etc.) and then completely removed it, which worked just fine. That fixed the skill tree issue. Soon afterwards (and if I recall it correctly, ever since I de-activated said mod) I realized, while starting a new game, I can't get past the ballista fight part during the prologue.

Thing is, I can play perfectly normal until Geralt gets down from the walls during the assault on the La Valette castle, and down there everything's okay until I get the quest objective "Kill the defenders of the ballista and aim it at the barricade" (or something similiar). I'm able to fight the defenders, I'm able to aim the ballista, but then the quest objective stays the same, while it is supposed to change into something like "fire the ballista". Every time I aim the ballista, new opponents appear, and this five or six times in a row, until I give up.
First I thought it could be because of some remnants of said mod I overlooked, so I uninstalled and re-installed the whole game, but the problem stays the same.

Any ideas to fix this?

In case it's needed:
Windows 7 64bit
i7-3610QM 2.3GHz
Nvidia GeForce GT 640M 2GB
4GB RAM

Thanks!
